  1. Nice! Yeah it's a big event prob 400 Jeep's or so. Bands ...all along Sylvan beach and Oneida lake..tc...https://m.facebook.com/Jeepsatthebeach/ If your going to Alex bay gotta hit Boldt castle. Is that pirates weekend there?
  2. Moog it's "Jeep's at the beach" weekend on Oneida lake. You and your Dad gonna be out there with the top open? https://m.facebook.com/Jeepsatthebeach/
  3. My office is right next to a Mcdonalds and i go twice a year maybe. Blah. Only thing i will ever order is the fish sandwich or a breakfast sandwich. But if i get the two fish sandwiches and fries its $8+. Can stop at legion and get the best fish dinner around with fries, slaw and a roll for $10 and a worthy cause. 2 years ago i tried a quarter pounder with cheese cause it had been a few years. One bite and it the trash it went. I really also dont care for places like applebees and olive garden and the chain restaurants either.
  4. i always apply early because my fishing license needs to be renewed. But areas i apply for usually have leftovers in Nov too. My buddy has been denied twice for a permit out near Trenton area and has later gotten one in the mail.
  5. no Tues night academy action last night?? WNY guys certainly werent working late.....
  6. Been trying to get on the website for a couple of weeks but it is being updated. Wanted to check out venison options and prices. I would like to save some venison through the season (pending how well I do) just to dropoff there in Dec and have some stuff made up. Those rueben sausages are amazing.
  7. two of my drunk buddies at fishing camp a couple of years ago swear by the game ears. They had them on trying to find out what the neighbor camp was cooking for dinner ! lol They also had binoculars and thought no one could see them behind the porch screen. BTW - they were cooking 3lbs of spaghetti. lol
  8. Pretty sure having late season corn standing while there was snow on the ground brought in the buck I got and the big one i saw during muzzleloader. Didnt have either of them on trail cams. So it might also bring in bucks from other areas too esp with a good food source.
  9. X2 And like Gman I don't step into the woods after Sept 1 when I check cam cards.
  10. looks like a great trip - have heard axis deer is damn tasty! I would love to go after Aoudad
  11. love new dirt to hunt on! good luck
  12. There are super windy days too where I just won't get in a tree. So that's a great option to have. And during gun with a nice heater and those blinds you have would be a great way to spend the entire day. Where I am getting frozen to a tree and have to go in after 3 hours
  13. Where I hunt I know there are plenty of does so don't need a bunch of doe pics, but new dirt for sure like to see how many deer and where they travel. If I had bears around might leave them out to get pics of those. But in the summer I will get 1000 pics of tractors on the fields tilling or planting or cutting. Plus the time I leave them out I can still get a good idea of the doe population
  14. Hate hunting out of a blind. That being said I have one. Haven't used it in 4 years but got a spot for it. On the hunting lease right behind the house there is a spot that I get busted by does walking out in the evening. It's gonna go there for an early first doe and rainy day spot.
  15. Mine go out this weekend. I wait til horns are formed. No sense in shortening the life span of the camera for doe pics. Unless I am scouting new dirt.
  16. 3 full size Moog men in that little blind! never. The deer arent buying that.
  17. Saw this on Oneida lake Diehards site - Mountain Man taxidermy in buffalo. Awesome mount
  18. Jdubs- ever hike Chimney Mtn in Indian lake? beautiful spot. A short hike for a fella like you though but such a nice area there. And hoping one day to be in Maine myself - but chasing a moose! Have a great trip!
