  1. Sounds like this Sunday someone big is gonna get taken out.....they are saying am emotional mid season finale. Who is it? I thought Carl was untouchable...but might be him . Esp would explain that scene in the season start where Rick is a mess. Daryl maybe.....hope not. If Daryl dies we riot! I am guessing it's the priest and another...maybe Eugene or Judith.
  2. That's more like it!!!! Just went by where my lease is. Field next door there is 10 deer out there eating. Rarely see any out there eating. Must be food sources getting lower and deer trying to feed up before winter and after rut. Too dark to see but there was one deer that just wayyy stood out. Looked like he had 50 pounds on the rest. Hoping it's the big 9 I've been after "Dark Knight" and he made it thru most of gun. Hoping Friday to get out and have a last weekend chance at him.
  3. i am now taking friday off to hunt because i cant stand "live from the woods" talk about NYC skyscapers! nope . lol somebody post a pic of a cornfield quick!
  4. just gave mine to a son of a friend of mine. Had that shotgun for 30 years. Its taken deer, turkey, small game. It was a bit beat up and got so I never used it cause Ive bought others , but took my first deer with it and my first buck. But moved it along to a new hunter who will get some use out of it. That gun covers it all and ammo is cheap. I just had a slug barrel without rifling and it was a deer killer out to 90 yards. Im glad its out in the field again. Went hunting with him last week and it was good to see it back in use. Told him he could have the gun, the only caveat was that he could not sell it. If he needed to sell it or wanted to to come see me first.
  5. we have been stand sitting all year. This saturday will be a push more than a drive . 4 guys.... 2 in stands, 1 pusher (me) and a loophole guy for those that might try to sneak out the back . Will go up deer trails in brush about 50-60 yards and get deer moving to setters on the other side of property in stands. A guy will go with me and look down a 90 degree trail from where i go in in case they make a hard left. Shotguns only. And its my buddies B day so hope I push one to him. Real safe and controlled and we never get too close. And the watchers are in stands and can only shoot downward to ground from the trail they are on. We look forward to it for sure cause otherwise havent seen much during gun at all. Plus its like a year end tradition. We dont touch the bedding areas til then. and not a fan of big drives with lots of people they make me too nervous but def look forward to the push we do. The one guy in stand its his B day and the other guy is a 17 year old and wont get to hunt next year cause he is headed to Paris island to become a Marine. Me and his Dad are hoping he gets one for sure .
  6. Glad to see it wasn't your Governor Cuomo posting this question first of all.....cause ONE gun,.....always need one more..... But gotta agree with Red, Mossberg 12 gets it all done. Big and small , kills em all. And buckshot for zombies and crowd control to boot!
  7. So agree. Beagle pups are the cutest for sure. And can't name a dog til you meet them. One will come to you that will fit just right. Mine dog Charlie is half beagle and half Australian cattle dog and he is just the best. Congrats on the pup.
  8. Made these up tonite with your recipe. I just added some liquid smoke. I did use a sausage stuffer I have for the kitchen aide though instead of a jerky shooter. Gonna cook them tomorrow night
  9. one time I was bass fishing on Lelands pond in madison county . I hear a car horn blaring and look out towards road (about 200 yards away) and some idiot is naked and running across the road. Then he dives in the bushes. Then another car comes thru and another naked guy with some kind of antler hat runs across the road in front of a car. The car stops and these two guys run to a parked car and take off. Well I was on my way in from fishing when this was happening so i waited a couple minutes, til the coast was clear and came in. Just as I got to the bank here comes a trooper. The first thing i thought is OHHH Lord I hope he doesnt think it was me....lol. So he comes over and I asked him "looking for two naked idiots?" And he busts out laughing....."yeah must be you saw the show". And he asks -" Dudes or Gals?" i told him it was two dudes and one had an antler hat. He says "damn .... its always guys" Then made a couple comments about drunken stoned idiots at 10 am from the college and left. So yeah never know what your gonna see out in nature. Lol But i still know I wont see bigfoot!
  10. i am making these tonite! well at least plan on getting the mix done, might have to pack and cook the next day though. Using up some '16 leftover crockpot roasts to make these. Thanks again for recipe, will let you know how I do.
  11. isnt one of the reasons listed by DEC to stop the spread of diseases? That deer eating from exact same spot isnt the same as when they browse naturally? dont know if I agree with that but think they have said that is one other reason for the no baiting law
  12. hope one of you guys has some action. I am missing hunting and cant get out til Friday at least. If no posts of BBD or freezer queens in the truck by 8:30 i am gonna be forced to start a thread about ..........................." the decline of bigfoot being due to the low numbers of jackalope (bigfoots primary food source) because of no AR restrictions on jackelope bucks being implemented and that with crossbows being legal its easier to hunt them"...........please, please dont make me do it!
  13. got a feeling we are all living thru you again today while we post up in our office chairs. Good luck! and keep us entertained with some BBD pics!
  14. i have a parker thunderhawk and just love it. It has a lifetime warranty and is actually made in the US. Very accurate. And the scopes that come with it were great. I was reading they make them just for the parker and there is a 20,30,40,50 line in the reticle. Took it out and it was on right from the start. Mine was a $500 model, my buddy has the $1000 (tornado model ?) one and he loves his too. But my suggestion with these is to heft them before just ordering one online. A lot of the ones i liked online i did not like when i had them in my hands. Didnt like how they fit or the scopes on a lot of them.
  15. wow thats amazing. Good for you! And yes DMV will have you surrender PA license and reissue a NY one. Will need proof of address. And yes agree - keep properties seperate if you can - would think taxes on something undeveloped will be much less local accessor would prob have the best info on that though. Best of luck. Winters in Oswego are serious if you havent been thru a winter there before., you have no idea. That area gets more snow that most places ---not just in NY- than in the entire world. Lake effect snow storms of 4+ feet at a time in some cases. That seems like some hard living to me, but if your up for it , certainly wish you the best! Your def gonna want that backhoe, and might be able to make some side money clearing snow with it in the area too.
  16. its bitcoin! I would start mining that crick right away!!!
  17. yeah its a tough one. I have a lease and would be bummed if i lost it cause its such a good deal. Good thing is ive known the guy for a while and we are the same age and i know he isnt moving soon. Just hoping his daughter doesnt marry a hunter. At least it is known now and you have time to look before next season. One of my hunting buddies found out he couldnt hunt on opening day a few years ago. Access is the #1 thing for hunting. Having good ground is tough to come by. Hopefully something comes up. I looked at buying land once myself but the expense is far too much. Cant buy even a small area to hunt without spending $50,000 easily minimum and then upkeep and taxes and ........ Leasing is just a great way to go. If you spent $2000 a year for the next 25 years its way cheaper but just hard to find that right setup.
  18. same thing happened to one of my hunting buddies. He had permission for a lot of years til the daughter married and he and his buddies started hunting. And no one told him til he got there opening day of gun a few years ago. I would hang onto it for the prime time of bow and hope this fella isnt a die hard hunter and gets tired of it in a couple of years. Hope for a real cold gun season next year. Family will always win out if it becomes an arguement. But would stay on the good side of things just to keep your bow hunting safe at the very least.
  19. After hunting one morn I helped out putting up lights at one of the places I have permission to hunt at. I was the ladder man! anything I can do to help out.........esp since i hunt there!
  20. Nice buck. Hunted Madison county all weekend but def saw nothing like that
  21. Biggest buck. An old old deer. Don't have a good pic as it starting snowing so bad that day could barely see the way out of woods. Have gotten lots of deer just no huge wall hangers.
  22. Do they make that in a 2XL? Cause I want one too! Actually if I see you out hunting in that I am shooting! Lol
  23. That sure goes along with your name..just lucky. That's awesome
  24. Better bring in Turkey feathers as a consultant. He could charge them $200 an hour and fill a tag to boot
