All are a handshake and I give them my cell phone number. I always go over where to park and let them know with a text when I will be there. Except for the lease I have ....same thing but give $ in April. When I do ask I always ask for bowhunting. People are more open to that than gun.

I tried to lease 45 acres that was for sale. It was owned by a lawyer. We started to make a deal for a hunting lease then the lawyer wouldn't call the realtor back. He doesn't live anywhere near here. And land is still for sale and just sits there. I looked at it to buy but it was too much. -
Scent crusher ozone bag and real tree truck seat covers from the GF, $125 in herb phillipsons gift cards from my staff. And some soup bowls, a buck knife set .....all good stuff and no fruitcake. Who knows what I would've got if I was good. Lol Hope you all got what you wanted and needed. And most importantly had lots of fun and laughs .

And when u fall out of your treestand on their property no one is gonna sue right .......a lot of leases require hunting insurance to lease the land. Is this also gonna be a requirement? I know out west they do this with some success but that's also huge tracts of land.

The land I lease the owner leases to me cause he knows me and trusts me. He has had offers for double the money but won't do it. He doesn't want just anyone out there, but does like having some help paying the taxes. Peoplle that buy land usually plan ahead on having to pay the taxes for whatever they want the land for and the reason they want their own land is not to share with people they don't know.

Smoothbore vs. Rifled barrel

I got a Remington 1187 rifled this year. I used to feel confident with a smoothbore out to 75-80 yards with my old Mossberg. Wanted a shotgun to stretch out to 125 or so. I have always been a shotgun guy but would say you might gain 50 yards on range. Ammo is def way more expensive. I shoot hornady sabots. Catch them on sale for $10 for a box of 5. -

I actually think it isn't even written here. One of my buddies was telling me there is a Michigan and a Minnesota etc edition and they just put out a NY one. Yeah it sucks. NY outdoor news is def a good one.

Never got out rabbit hunting like I planned. Poured here in between sleet and freezing rain. I wouldn't have even went if deer season was still open here. And next week highs in the teens, overnights below zero. Prob won't be out for a while now.

My favorite snack is cheese and crackers. And when I was a kid we left out cheese and crackers and two bud long necks for Santa. Cause he got sick of cookies and milk. Lol And they were always gone in the morning

I do that with wild turkey chunks and cook in the deep fryer. Comes out great. Use sweet and sour dipping sauce.

My favorite Christmas movie is Grumpy old Men!! lol its set at xmas time -- and its also my all time favorite movie. Just for an all out xmas movie it has to be Christmas vacation though. And of course it isnt Christmas til I see Hans Gruber fall from Nacatomi Plaza (Die Hard) lol

i have grunted a few bucks i have seen back to me. Otherwise i dont call at all. Except this year tried some rattling and grunting in a sequence and called in a 7 point that was tearing up a tree all ticked off and got an 8 point that was chasing a 4 point to come in at 50 but no shot for bow.
