Prob not going there anytime soon with deer sack. But have to say if it's between Moogs limas or deer testicles......balls in my court! Both those options are out as long as there are grocery stores or critters to hunt.

there is great reason to hunt right there. Wish we had some bears around here

i have done it with a couple of guys like twice. i hated it cause all i did was worry where everyone was and that was with only like 5 guys. have done pushes where i am quite a ways from everyone and the other 2 guys are in spots where i would be safe. But no deer drives for me. I know guys that do that and its a meat pile after.

think it also depends on area. If there are a lot of deer or its real sectioned off by houses etc. Then the same few deer use the area.

It was a great season. Got some early doe in the freezer and was able to hunt for a big boy. I passed on A few smaller bucks and a busted up 8. Got close to a couple of real nice ones but couldn't seal the deal. First year I have ever been able to do that. Usually I take a 4,5,6,7 point . I kept a log and in the stand i saw 104 deer. Was a good season enjoyed it a bunch. Never have gotten a real big wall mounter but had the opportunity to try and got with in 70 yards twice. And still have venison in the freezer and gained a new spot as well for next year. Already looking forward to 2018.

But Bigfoots live in the weeds...lol

just cause i cant help myself.......... Sooo you think there are bigfoot. There has never been any captured, shot or caught on anything but grainy (of course) pics or video. There would have to be a sustaining population to keep having them around but no one ever anywhere has gotten one, hit one, trapped one, found one dead etc.......So how do you think they reproduce (i know guys....bigfoot style haha) with enough numbers to sustain a population-yet no one can find one ........I cant take a leak without someone posting it on facebook. lol Im not gonna walk thru the woods worrying that bigfoot might get me. If you are .....well......whatever i say wont change your mind. But keep posting here so we know your alright and didnt get ravaged by the foots!

chances are the local population that goes through there prob has smelt enough of you. lol They are avoiding it because they dont feel safe. Even if they havent physically seen you there you still leave behind scent and signs of activity. Deer travel more at night and have prob become wary of the area and changed up trails. If you have snow look for some fresh sign of trail use and maybe try moving there. I dont really believe deer pattern people as they dont really have a sense of time, but they do know when someone is around a lot for sure. A blind is an easy move to setup and if you that hunt it right away. Hopefully the property is big enough to move a little. I bet there are still deer close by but maybe just out of sight of that blind. Good luck.

i was at the range this summer and took my 06 and a 12 G shotgun. I had two misfires in each! Have never had that many in my life. 2 misfires with Federal 06 and two with winchester 12 g. I use corelokts in my 06. Have yet to have any problems but hope this isnt a trend.

People might be more likely to say yes to a young person like yourself and you might just find some places to hunt for many years. Dont be afraid to ask the worst they will say is no and sometimes people might surprise you that you thought would turn you down. Good luck. And check with your local farms first. They are most likely to say yes to a local.

My ex brother in law has been having turkeys all around him and toms fighting. He was telling me how we need to thin them out this spring.

Did you see where Your governor wants to have eco's patrol the subways for littering.......yup that's just another great idea. I can't wait til he is president. There are only 300 eco's in the whole state and he wants then to be writing litter tickets in the subway. Must be they are just wasting their time upstate in those worthless woods and lakes.

My guess is the state wouldn't want to fight that battle with PO'd people that were told they can't hunt. And then once it opened it would be like Walmart on black Friday.

Update......pretty girl just scored a bunch of venison that her neighbor gave her. They had a big family hunt and got a couple opening day. So currently.... good hunter - 2 doe...... pretty girl - a bushel of apples and half a deer. Lol.

Def on hold mode here. 30 mph winds off oneida lake here and rain. Nope..... Forecast for tonite is 3_7 inches of snow. Heavy lake effect and wind. Tomorrow ought to be fun at work. But if we close die to weather a pm hunt in the snow could happen......

Didnt see a thing all day til I got down from stand. Walked 30yards and two deer up a lane just before dark but 200 yards away. Didn't have time to try a stalk so tried a shot. Didn't connect, checked for blood and hair and nothing. Was a real big doe and I have 3 tags yet. 30-06 was up for the shot. ( Used 3030 in am but switched in pm) but it was off hand and no tree to steady on anywhere. Wouldn't have shot except the deer was perfect broadside.

yeah was thinking has he been around a gunshot ? pretty loud in a hunting shack. Got some earphones?
