  1. Had to improvise. My bow cable broke, so I am having that replaced. So while the bow is in the shop, I took my ancient Hoyt out of mothballs and will use that next weekend along with my old aluminum arrows. The bow is slow, but I am happy with how it shoots. Just have to get the deer within 20 yards. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. I recently bought a pair of Leupold BX-1 in 40 mm. Haven't used it afield, but happy with clarity, size, weight, etc. As you will likely read in the reviews the lens covers are junk, but should not cost much to upgrade those. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. This has been a rough couple weeks, which put me behind on prep. My arrow rest broke, so I just replaced it need to tune and sight in. That and travel for business makes my list something like this. Tune & sight bow, then practice with new set up. Get County permits. Wash clothes and spray permethrin. Check all gear and replace batteries. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. First fire of September. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  5. Super late on catching up with this thread. Congrats to you both. Safe trip home. May you both live happily ever after. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  6. Nice buck. Congrats to your buddy. Hope to connect with a deer like that some day soon. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  7. I would avoid the X stand. I tried it out and it is scary. It may be light, but you could not pay me to use one. It flexes way too much and is too small and I am not a big guy. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  8. Saw a little 6 pt in velvet running across the parking lot at Smith point yesterday. Did not get a photo hurt my grand daughter was happy to see it. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  9. Sorry for your loss. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  10. No photos, but saw a young 6 pt out of velvet on Monday. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  11. Kind of off topic but saw you mention your health condition. Had a similar condition treated with ablation and would recommend you speak to your doctor about it. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  12. I treat with permethrin the weekend before opening day typically. I launder clothes after every use generally and re-treat with permethrin every 2 weeks or 2 washes, whichever comes first. I tend to slack off on the treatment as the season wears on and temps get colder. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  13. Was thinking what Grampy said....that deer might use it too. Created a new funnel. That might be cheating. Lol. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  14. Most excellent. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  15. Like many have opined, cover is more important than height. I use the hang on when leaves are on the trees and I set up 10-13 feet. Late season I use the climber more often and typically higher at about 16-20 feet. I bowhunt public land almost exclusively. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

  17. Sorry to hear. Best wishes to your wife. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  18. Haven't done more than a couple miles on kayak or canoe, mostly duck hunting or fishing. Longest rowboat trip was about 10 miles, when I was in scouts. On one such trip we had the use of a seagull engine to get us there, but had to row back when the motor would not start. Had to row towing another empty row boat behind us. Made it back so late the coast guard was contacted. Good times. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  19. Here's photo that did not load. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  20. It might look silly, but use this when fishing. Keeps sun off my face and neck and cinches down when underway. Hasn't blown overboard yet. Can't say the same for ball caps. Most boonies are used for summer yard work or fishing. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  21. Great thread. I am looking g to upgrade and have settled on black diamond or tikka from my googling. Based on Dinsdale's input the Google reviews seem legit. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
