Land prices in upstate NY are still a bargain compared to elsewhere IMHO. But they make up for it in taxes.

I've had a couple of the savages, and many slug guns. I always use an all steel mount and rings. I favor Leupold for worry free mounting. Also have a Wheeler mounting and lapping kit. I've had good success with a drag scent at times. Fresh doe, not a bottled with preservatives. Have had bucks follow trail right in to the drag which I place on a branch in a shooting lane. Antler ice is my preferred brand. Don't like cover scents. Why add more scent? When does a skunk scent, when he's scared. Other animals know that too. I do all I can to eliminate scent. Hang clothes outside. Spray with scent eliminating Spray. Keep a small bottle in my pack for in the stand use on long sits or warm days. Have deer up close and personal. My 2 scents, your mileage may vary.

We have a trail across 1 of our properties. Club gives us a insurance certificate every year. And a gift certificate to a local restaurant. They put in a culvert the first year, which is useful for us. The trail is not open until after deer season, which is a standard practice in NY. They invite us to a banquet every year, but we have not attended. Never had a problem with the club which is more than I can say for the neighbors.

What are you using for a roller/crimper? Did beans last year over previous years Egyptian wheat stalks, came out well. This year's beans I couldn't resist a quick till to break up corn stalks further. Want to do more green manure plantings.

We get those rose breasted grosbeaks alot. Only use sunflower seed in the feeder. Lots of Cardinals too. They winter in Mexico and south America. They say it's the same ones that come back yearly to the same place.

Our pond is spring fed which is a way of keeping rainbows going. They won't reproduce so we put in a few new in the spring. I supplement feed them so they come up top and flip on the surface. Can get a good look at size then. Been 3 years, should try a little fishing this year. Thinking of a few perch this spring to help eat the minnows. There is thousands of minnows as we have a good spawning setup. Last weekend ice is melting back and plenty of minnows in the open edges. Alotta fun.

URMC called today and offered me the shot. I asked if they had the J&J available. She said no but she would put in my chart to call when they do. I told her I would wait for it as it was previously tested as the basis for their ebola vaccine. And that I have watched I Am Legend too many times. She said she knows what I mean.

How's Caverns if they are open. Took the family once and a FAT woman got stuck ahead of us. We went back and yelled for hot butter to get her out. Kids never forgot about that.
