  1. Taking vehicles to repair shops, you're trust ing their judgement to make the right repair on the vehicle at the best price possible. Possible, this repair shop has lost a knowledgable mechanic. Every repair shop usually has just one, mainly because of hugh overhead and operating cost. Others are just wrench turners. Give the shop a chance to " go good" on the repair. Any good repair station, should honor a warranty. On another note, wait to u see what happens to inspections next year.
  2. Why don't I belive the part of "the bill won't increase after that", LOL. 12 years with Directv. yep, their bait is mighty tasty, LOL.
  3. A electrical problem can be one of the toughest, especially for someone with little training. One would have though to check the battery and cables, first. Never make a problem more complicated, than it really is.
  4. U should start beekeeping, it's very rewarding.
  5. More honey bee pics. This swarm came in early yesterday. Ended up in one of my pear trees.I love this time of year, LOL.
  6. I've used a clean burlap bag, in a pinch. Mine are already expired, so a small foldable cooler/ strap with a little ice works well.
  7. My plow done wheat is headed nicely. Starting to ripen. Left it due to the wet June. High hopes the turkey visit it like last season. They don't seem to trust the area until some of the hay is removed. The deer have made paths through, with several bedding areas in spots. Looks like a good fawn year from the beds spotted. It's continues to rain here this am., with another 6/10th. Couple days of drying and back to wet.
  8. We all work together, share a common knowledge, and always willing to learn.
  9. We'll Culver, These dish compinies are no better than Time Warner. They lock u into a 2 year contract, then sky rocket the price. After 2 years we all pay for these teaser rates, new siqnups get. One thing to consider, u don't get the cloud blackouts- rain fade, with wired service.
  10. Where's the gone wrong part?
  11. I now have enough lumber to build two perment stands, spots where the ladders got stolen last. Got the tarps ordered from Habor Freight and two past board frig. boxes reserved. Now all I need is the brick and the flue for the fireplace, LOL
  12. Their is also a green colored sign here on peoples front yards. Does anyone know where they come from?
  13. Seeing them showing up here. Anyone have a link for aquiring one? Thanks in advance.
  14. Couldn.t possibly be a lion. Their is no such thing in New York.
  15. Nice. Do I see a father, daughter taxidermy business in the making?, LOL.
  16. I got to agree with Doc on this one WNY.. What one has to do is take a cold hard look at who is running the court systems in this state. Better yet, take a look at who is funding these judges campaigns. Then maybe one may not put much faith in a repeal of the Safe Act. I don't say never give up trying, but their comes a point where people except the fact. Those that don't , are branded trouble makers, nuts or lnieics. Human nature also tends to forget what these politicians did, when election time rolls around.
  17. Congrats Deerthug. Do they go room to room like HS?
  18. This will be made into silage. Looks like something coming up in the bottom, maybe a legume. The mixture will be cut when in the prime protien stages, thus getting a high tonage crop this year and allowing the legume to come on with high yield returns next season. If no legume is in it now, this will be planted to wheat in late summer, to take advantage of the nitrogen, fixed in the soils by the peas. Either way, it's beautiful protien for antler development, doe building, and fawn growth, right now. You should have some nice deer there, come season.
  19. Yes. I have put smaller swarms together in early July. They have to be introduced to each other using a screen divider for a few days, then pull the divider out and they will mix together sucessfully. I choose the best laying queen.
  20. Wooly, Yeah, I'm like a magnet to metal, LOL. I once was at a gathering where a swarm flew into the people yard. It was funny. Everyone was running away, and I ran towards them, and dropped them on a limb. Everyone thought I was nuts. To answer your question:I have seen bees leave in a matter of minutes, or build comb there, for months. Why, I don't know. Culver: Most left over bees that come back once the swarm is gone, were the ones foraging in the field, or out scouting for a new home. They most likely will be lost. Your right on the scent however. I have remove bees off the same locations year after year. I had some friends that would call me faithfully every years having to remove bees from the same fence post. If they set up residence in a house or similar location. Once their remove, it is nearly inpossile to keep a new swarm out. Update on these little rascals: They swarmed out of the hive yesterday. I was doing some yard work and noticed the uproar. I had to drop them with a push lawn mower and install them back in the hive. Upon inspection, I found a moth ball in one corner. Time will tell if they stay.
  21. Seems to be an ideal year for rabbits.
  22. Ganders sold out, so is Buds. Buds said they could get me a used one. I like the idea of not using a primer, not having to fight with fouling in that area. Also like the fact, that a steady spark is ignited in the same area of the charge, unlike 209's give. I wanted to talk to bubba, a past member on here, about these guns. He was a muzzleloader guru!
  23. It's a lot more complicated than this, but without writing a book- Their main intent is to find a new home. The workers, guide the queen, through the communication of "pheromones" traveling to their new home. Scout bees have already lined up a new living quarters, but the queen is not use to flying, so she has to stop and rest at times. Thus I intersept them and place them in a new hive. Most honeybees come from hives these days, so they are happy to return to one.
  24. when their swarming. These little fellas landed on my shop yesterday. Scooped them in a box and slid them in a beehive.
