  1. Does anyone think the blinking style would work the best?
  2. Just got back from Cleveland burbs, did see those signs. it's a tinder box there.
  3. Dorn., Big Game makes a tree strap on seat that swivels today. River Edge made one years back but dropped it. Grow, we use a portable canopys over stands like that. Keeps some of the rain and snow off. I still like being out in the elements. Just adds to my excitement more, I guess.
  4. We seem to eat a lot of fresh fruit salads in summer, more so than any other time of the year. Oh and a good old fashion crab meat salad, with pulled barb, venison, cooked twice.
  5. Seem to recall u setting up old bath tubs as water stations on your property. How are they working out?
  6. It's not that the whole family don't harvest a doe, I just don't. We're pick out a mature doe to cull out of the herd, but I let one of my sons harvest. A nice 8 or bigger is the harvest rule here. As far as big buck harvest, we're out there.
  7. See u have a turkey in one pic, maybe with a poult. Are u getting many turkey pics?
  8. Well people, I'll be the first, maybe the only. Have never shot a doe. Have had plenty of chances. I let them pass. Ya Ya, I know, taking a doe is good for the deer herd. I like the 70+ lbs of meat off 180# bucks. and easier to process. A doe is a lot more work. Guess without bucks, I'd garage sale all my deer stuff.
  9. Looked at Firenock. They were about double in price, compared to Lumenok, Easton Tracers, Nocternals, and Lazer Eyes, but their technology may be worth more.
  10. What type of lighted nocks were u thinking of using. I have been weighing the option of using for a few years now, but still haven't purchased any.
  11. Grow, do u have studded boots to get in those stands? lol.
  12. Feet up on the coffee table, Chowing on some pop corn, with my Samuel Adams. That's as close as I'll be, to prep for 2012. So far behind now, I ain't gona worry about it.
  13. Another dry summer, to add to the list. Their stacking up. Ohio dry too.
  14. Remington 12 ga, rifled barrel; brenekee 3" sabot slug.
  15. My goodness, you are gona have your hands full, come season, hopefully full of rack. Looks like that 2 year old in post #3 might be blind in his left eye?
  16. We'll, doesn't this make for interesting. I'm still reading deer youth hunt on DEC web site.
  17. Small game youth seasons are before regular seasons usually. It will be interesting to see how deer youth season plays out. I figured that with youth gun, the archery season would be closed for those 3 days. Some of those young people with guns, running around the fields and all. I know it says with a 3 years experienced hunter and all, but it didn't say educated hunter or hunting style.
  18. You have confirmed something that people have wondered for e-ons. Thank u
  19. The wording is a little confusing. October 1st southern zone bow opener, has that certain ring to it. Am I dreaming?
  20. The way it reads, I would take it to start the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend. 6,7, and 8th. I very well. could be wrong though. Thanks for posting the requirements. Also might be a good time for all bow hunters to wear some orange to and from their hunting spots.
  21. So, are bow hunters still allowed in the field during Youth firearms weekend? That would be Oct. 6,7, and 8th.
  22. A big thanks to all those who pushed for the October 1st opener. This is a big step for New York in the right direction. Maybe worth a thank you email to those responsible. Mr Maziarz is getting one from me.
