yes i can see in my life time where land will be under lease and if your unable to or dont care to pay , the option left is state land. fortunatly nys owns about 30- 40 % of the state... hard hunting but it is available

Take the kid with you hunting... people in the country on private land do all sorts of thing not legal. Esp with kids, when age was 16 for deer half the kids I knew hunted with their, parents at 12 with their own gun unsupervised. We all had jobs on farms or mowing lawn by 12.for cash. Driving tractors and equipment with no safety guards at. 12 As wel. It was normal..maybe tATS what's wrong with society today....

most likely an infection in skin. meat will be fine. if not you get the head and another tag from dec for buck because of in inedable meat.

best i have..api baby grand magnum 28x38 in platform, loggy bayou hangons 24x36 both have cables out at sides and full square platforms.. ... look for all aluminum welded construction, fold up seat and 22 in high so leg slopes , to short a seat and you'll get leg cramps. to high uncomfortable. many good manufacturers out there. but i'd stay away from steel. powercoated alum is way to go. for ease of hanging and longevity.:

Vetch, great food source and you won't be spreading a problem via the river washing seed/roots to other areas... its what they use on overpass hillsides. Please stay away from non native... it may solve your problem but create big ones for other people. this holds true for plants ,animal, ect... few examples, purple loosstrife, Asiatic carp, zebra mussle, autumn olive, starlings, the list goes on and on....

I would go for older buck, esp if it is only a 6 pt. Had a big 4pt tha I knew was.Years plus. Never gave a good shot was killed 2 years later as a 6in base 20in wide 18in beam spike. By a neighbor, was a/true trophy in my opinion, had no teeth above the gum.. not sure how old it was for sure but was at least 7.5 Known. It would of not been a legal buck under mandatory ar's.

Arrow 4(carbon), broadhead 7. 2 Blade razorheadlite lost a lot of weight off it resharpening it and tip bent after going thru doe on last.shot and hitting rock.

If no poles, can be expensive, need right of way, poles wire... hate to say but a Honda generator in a separate shed with battery(deep cycle with inverter) back up would be way to go.. and not paying taxes on electric service.

This time of year you get a lot of passing bucks.. mom gave em the boot at 1.5 You can get a much better estimate over a longer time frame, and does are tough to I'd at first. I am down to 3-1 and stay around that by taking 10 doe a year.. fawns have to seperated in to doe and buttons as well. Not just counted as anterless.

2.5 Maybe bad 3.5 90 Tops
-
get a topo find the natural terrain funnel sit and hunt it.. don't worry about what food...if they have to cross a creek in a certain spot, or a ditch or a brushy draw you will get a deer there!
-
forget the cam why scent up the area go, make a makeshift blind in old building and hunt!
-
Teach us old wise ones, how do you "old tops" prep for the season.

Here is a good tip, get a fresh non bloody tarsal gland off a road kill or friends kill(as long as its 2 miles or more from your hunting area. Hang it up and watch the deer come in to it.doesn't matter if its buck or doe by the way! Just make sure to hang it up wind yards or so. Last only a day or two before you need to toss it. 2Nd If some one kills a deer in your party cut open the stomach to see what its eating and head to that food source for you next hunt! -
If you see them from long way they can see you.... move closer and in thickests cover you can find.. your shot should be broadside or quarting away, not coming at you... you shoulnd see them till they are almost in range
