Here is Reed's recent official statement on postponing the Eastern Sports Show... Man! I couldn't have been more wrong about these guys... a simple "We've changed our position and decided to allow the sale and display of modern sporting rifles at the show." would have been a better response...

" It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits"

And they still don't get "it".

They certainly don't... I think when they say "directly affected" they are talking about those that would not have been able to display or sell those guns... when in reality their decision affected the better portion of their attendees and vendors..the ones that felt their 2nd Amendment Rights being infringed.

The question still remains. Now what?

You simply cannot have a void such as this. There's three arms to the hunter's show circuit - SHOT, ATA, and ESOS. Only ESOS is public/consumer.

If nobody steps up to the plate, there's a BIG void.

That was one of my first big concerns as well... hopefully somebody or a group of somebodies will step up.

Our gun club had a bus trip planned for the Harrisburg show.. instead we are using the bus for a trip to Cabela's that day. I've never been there so I'm pretty excited.

the cabelas store there in pa is pretty sweet!!! make sure you eat lunch there!!!!! and take plenty of time browsing....

I think there planning on spending 6 hours actually inside the store... hopefully that will be enough time.. :)

I love that store. It is one of PA's biggest tourist attraction. Bring your camera!

Post up your impressions of the store when you get back. Have a great trip.

Progresive was one of the so called big backers and I guess the owner of progressive is a huge obama backer and anti gun advocate. Our insurance money is backing this guy. We seem to be paying for our own anti gun laws. Crazy when you think about it.

I would love to see some formal confirmation of there anti 2nd stance and if they truely were behind the ESS ban. That would need to be a national compaign to pull any insurance business from them. Flo might even have to find another job.
