More Rain...................

That was quite a storm last night!  The lightning show was amazing and the rain came down in torrents. 

 

I think they said Lockport got 4-5" AGAIN.  Another rainy Friday...........................

 

Those poor folks up there have nothing left in their basements to get ruined after the storm a month ago. We got between 1-2" around my place.  I took 20 gallons of water off my boat cover.  Siphoned the water into 5gal buckets just out of curiosity!! 

 

This has been a crazy summer, SO FAR...............

We have not seen a drop of rain down here in a while send some down.

Where?  It sure looked like most everybody was going to get blasted??  Maybe the are dissipating before they get to you.....??

Man we were in the middle of it last night....Mr B laughed when he saw I'd moved my pillows to the foot of the bed to get farther from the window...The Dog cried under the bed most of the night...Thunder..guns ...fire  works..terrify her..boy is she in the wrong house...LOL

Every thing feels and smells so clean this morning I love it...

Down in Westchester,Very overcast right now.We might get a blast today tonight is gonna be nasty rain and thunder storms.But they have been sayin that all week.it's got to be about 2 weeks we got nothing very dry.

Rain what's that , they keep on saying 30 percent chance.haven't seen any for 2 weeks.They are saying 70 percent this afternoon, we will see.Ground is dry, streams are really low.

fields were just about dry enough to turn for turnips/brassica .... now underwater again..ugh

This rain was crazy at 10 pm last night I was ripping my sump pump apart and hooking hoses up to it and redirecting it to the middle of my back yard the water was coming up fast. Then at 330 I went into the basement and the hose has blown off Nd the water was pumping All over the basement luckily I found a hose clamp in with in minutes the basement was empty again

With all that rain last night, I forgot to close the windows out in my shop, checked it this morning and I got lucky, not a drop, I was expecting the floor and everything close to an open window to be soaked. It must have rained almost straight down.

Have never seen the amount of water in the Woodlands, South Lockport area, that is there this morning. from Mud Creek Several reports of flooding, trees down, and power outages from Lockport west. Many, many flooded basement calls. Witnessed the event from the Genesee County fair last evening, The cloud formations and lighting strikes were stunning.  Crowd attendance was very low, but we enjoyed a dry visit until about 8:20. when the storm hit there.

Tell ya what ...there was a lot of ozone in the air last night...WTH  I had no weeds in the garden yesterday and picking peas this a.m...which are now 9ft tall! the weeds were every where and dang if some didn't have flowers!!?? My peppers sprouted all kinds of flowers..pumpkin plant and squash  dbl. in size... corn shot up 6 ins and my beans are all over the place...crazy...

Had the plot behind garden all ready for perennial clover/sainfoil...weeds were ALL dead...its green this morning ...I suppose I should be thankful...looks like there will be one more spraying done after these rains...that will take me into 2nd week of August to plant...if the moisture is consistent...will plant an oat pea combo as a companion then. Going down in a bit ..after picking more blue berries...25 #'s so far...and throw out some turnips in bare areas around the not so good power plant...

We got pounded pretty good last night, but not for too long. The wife and I just got back from the Syracuse nationals, at the fair grounds. We got there around 11. It was cloudy but no rain till about 1:00 then all hell broke loose for about 30 mins. It poured so hard that I didn't  even dare leaving the shelter of a small awning to hit the beer stand, that was only about 15 yards away. After the 30 mins. the rain stopped and the sky eventually cleared. The beer stand was still there too !!!!! Clear and sunny now.
