My deer hoist

Recommended Posts

very cool idea Eddie. We use two small pulleys to hoist deer and works well but still requires some physical labor, however the buck I just shot we used the front loader on my tractor to lift the deer and that was effortless...lol :D . I was thinking to do what you did for years now but never got around to doing it, thanks for the instructional now I have an idea as to how to set one up. Do you have the battery hooked up to a tether charger or will you just charge the battery with a 12V charger when the battery looses juice??

NYBowhunter ------ I have a Trickle Charger that I put on maybe once a month . The winch is 12 volt and could be run by jumper cables to a rider mower , car , etc .. I chose to use a spare battery . I also have a Float Charger that I can use if necessary .

Yeah I meant to say trickle charger, thats what I figured. Thanks for the info

I use a 1.5ton chain fall with an endless sling suspended from a tree branch to hoist the deer up. I made a triangle with two hooks fashioned from baling hooks to attach to the rear legs.

I understand this is an older thread but I just gotta know something.

Do you have a backer plate behind the 2x6 for the winch? Can you get close enough to the door with a truck to be able to hook up the deer and not have to drag the deer to the garage,if so...that's great! That's a great setup.
