Well, actually, I have two, but they're related.

 

It's 5pm, the night before opening day and my neighbor decides now is a great time to sight in.  I shoot him a text "Dude, WTF are you doing? You should have done that before now!"

 

He texts me back "Just bought a new shotty and tryna sight it in quick"

While it may be bad timing and lack of preparedness, I guess that's his prerogative.

 

My pet peeve is when a grown man can't chew food with his mouth closed and smacks his lips. I've been uncomfortably close to laying guys out for that reason alone. I literally have to walk away. My boss always wonders why I don't eat lunch...... ummm

Ha.... I feel your pain...last day of bow and I saw not one animal besides crow...it started at 10 this morning and then restarted on two sides of me at 4.....they were still blasting away at 4:45...I didn't even here anything come out or going into the woods today....it sounded like opening day...in fact I sat i my stand thinking...OMG did I some how miss a day??

That's sucks, best to just let it go.  Sounds like an idiot.  I try to just let stuff like that go.  Next time tell him you will come over and help.  Talking too close ARG and open mouth eating can get really annoying!  I had a friend who was a close talker, someone must have said something because he finally stopped doing it.  Funny but most people who do it do not realize.  I usually ended up in the corner of the room from stepping back every time they moved in, funny stuff.  Good luck tomorrow be safe.

Is he doing it on your property ?

 

If not you should mind your own business..

My pet peeve. People on public sites complaining how everyone ruins their hunting season.  He has the right to shoot any time he wants to.  That will not even begin to hurt hunting.  The deer do not move to the next county when they hear shots.  Hunting pressure is the bigger problem than shooting.

I never said they'd leave, much less go 100 miles. What I said was that it would affect their movements overnight tonight and into the morning. They'll be hunkered down in the thick shit and not on the plots like they normally are.

Well kind of similar to your pet peeve, one thing I enjoy is going to walmart at 1130pm on opening day eve to see all of the guys there purchasing supplies for the big hunt. These guys are buying everything from ammo to scopes to hand warmers, even lock on tree stands. I can't say that its too bad to buy there tags tonight because atleast there in the woods legally but its entertaining as hell.

My peeves are too long to list! Excessive tapping of pencils and when kids squeeze plastic water bottles drives me insane!

In regards the shooting, there were three guys sighting in today where I was bow hunting the evening. They were shooting between 12:30-1:30.. I was on stand by 3:30 with two ther guys in the same vicinity - we saw 6-8 (some am have been repeats) deer - cold not have been more than 500 yards from target practice but we were on the other side of some hills and such.
