Jvilla
Happy new year to everyone. Just received the email from cabelas stating that they will no longer ship ammo ( actually was 12gauge shells) the this state because of the background checks that begin on January 15, 2014. I thought that this was being delayed. When I called cabelas they said the aren't taking any chances that would possibly put them in a legal situation. Has anyone else heard from other internet companies on this? Regards John.
sbuff
I placed an order from graff and sons on 12/30 no issue with them yet. I ordered bullets from bull shop on 1/2 no issues with them.

Arrow Flinger
Its gonna be a real PITA to have to drive to PA and stockpile ammo!
MACHINIST
Big time.Especially when PA stores may give a hassle to NY'ers because they don't want problems.FUAC
WNYBuckHunter
The background checks wont be put into place right away, but internet and catalog sales are no longer legal after that date IIRC. Bubba could tell you for sure, hes pretty up on the details.
Early
Despite the lag in getting the ammo background checks in place, you can bet online ammo sales will end on, or before 1/15/14.
Csk21
Anybody know if this applies to components or just loaded ammo?
132 eight pointer
The ironic reality is that a black market for ammunition will be the result of the "Safe Act" no different than alcohol, fireworks, cigarettes etc. etc.
growalot
this may be a stupid ?....does it effect reservation lands?
Early
Interesting/good question.....Anyone know for sure?
MACHINIST
Probably not because the Feds cant enforce much on res lands. The black market for ammo will go through the roof all because of this.Everyone does realize that the NYS government only wants to know what ammo you are buying to see what guns you don't have registered right.Think about it,you don't buy any new guns as of last year so technically on the radar you only have a few guns. Now in the next 2-3 years you buy some 12 gauge ammo,30-06 ammo,223,22lr and some 22mag.They then know what guns you have and how much you use them. This has nothing to do with stopping people who aren't allowed to get ammo, its just like when someone who wasn't allowed to buy a gun tried to buy one then got denied at the counter.Nothing was done to them legally, they should have been charged with the crime of trying to obtain a firearm. What I don't understand is how can all of these fugged up laws get passed in less than 48 hours but it will take years and years to get it reversed? ants
this may be a stupid ?....does it effect reservation lands? me and a friend were just talking about that. I hope they do start selling ammo on reservation lands so we can all thumb our noses at the little king.
DCHunts
I'm sure if they're allowed to they will be. Look at how much they make from tobacco on their lands. They aren't dumb, its only a matter of time Edited January 5, 2014 by DCHunts

hunter49
NYC needs to become a sovereign land. Those POS politicians can stay in the yuppie land and leave us alone X 2 , or its own state or district like Wash.D.C. & leave the rest of the state alone. Its like its own little country with all its stupid laws.
