The bear weighed dressed at 500 lbs and was 7 1/2 feet long... the hunter was 17 years old

You would think they would get bigger upstate,some guy shot a 850lb bear in northern nj a couple years ago, but I guess all the garbage they have to eat let's them get big

I think eventually well see the occasional 700plus pounder shot here in ny the bear population is growing and more and more aRe being shot each year it's only a matter of time some one gets a 700-800 lb bear in this state just my opinion

I was fortunate to see this beast pull up to the taxidermist a few years back.  I was dropping off my buck to get mounted and this thing pulled up on a trailer.  Super nice people, and huge bear.  Congrats.
