This is what has been happening in New York for several years now. This governor has accelerated this effort. The bulk of the voters do in fact operate on emotions in this state when it comes to hunting. Edited January 8 by Doc
bugsNbows
Me thinks y’all need a few more regs to be passed. NOT Liberal nut jobs running the whole show. Pathetic!
landtracdeerhunter
Politicians are representives of the people. Not representative s for themselves. They are suppose to act on fact, not emotion. What is truly best for the people. What they determine the majority of their voters " think" would have a successful outcome for the non voter. What gets me, fact; population is declining in New York. Then politicians look at each other dumbfounded and ask the question why. The voters that cast their ballots for these commies or do not stand up for themselves by not showing up at the ballot boxes, have to take some responsibility for the outcomes. We have met the enemy, and they are us. As far as the politicians who never seem to question the declining NYS population, I am sure they are relieved that all the troublemakers are leaving the state to them. Grouse
I think those politicians know why people are leaving. They know why businesses are leaving too. They also know NYS is near bankruptcy and that major loss of tax revenue is going to need replacing somewhere. I think they are hoping they can get a Democrat President to bail out bankrupt blue states at the expense of the entire country, because if they can't, they are going to DOUBLE the taxes on all the NYS residents that chose to stay here. And even if they can get a POTUS to bail them out, they will just figure they can do it again if need be and put NYS right back into major debt. That is what a collectivist mindset believes. That's Marxism. Edited January 10 by Grouse

(NEWS10)— New York is one of eight states that saw a drop in population this year. Over 101,000 people left the state according to the U.S. Census Bureau. “Affordability, public safety, housing, mental health, our nursing homes need staffing,” listed Tedisco. “But other things are not so obvious, and we have to get a holistic look, a deep dive into these things.” He and Democratic Assemblyman, Angelo Santabarbara, are now introducing a bill for commission to research the exact causes of out-migration. The commission would consist of 13 members chosen by the Governor, Senate Majority Leader, Assembly Speaker, and the Minority Leaders of both the Senate and Assembly. Public hearings would then be held in all regions across the state. But in her 2024 State of the State address on Tuesday, Gov. Kathy Hochul pointed to the lack of housing as a reason people are leaving, using it for justification for lawmakers to address affordable properties. “People aren’t moving for warmer weather or lower taxes. They’re moving next door,” Hochul said. "Three of the top five states New Yorkers are moving to share our borders and have similar taxes. People are earning in New York but living in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.” The governor said the high costs of rents and mortgages are caused by a housing shortage in the state and outlined other cities in the U.S. whose ambitions to build more housing “dwarfed ours.” Hochul: Housing reforms is solution to New York outmigration (spectrumlocalnews.com)

airedale
The Democrats and their party's platform are becoming totally incompatible with the outdoor sports in every phase, be it shooting, hunting trapping, fishing, their end goal is to eventually shut everything down, that along with just about everything else.
