Muslim holidays

Recommended Posts

No other religious holidays are observed as far as I know.  No prayer in school either.

Technically speaking, Christmas and Easter are religious holidays.  But don't mind me.   I'm an atheist.   :taunt:

Now, I am not in support of observing these Muslim holidays, but as usual you don't know what you are talking about. NYC public schools observe Christmas, Good Friday, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Are these not religious holidays??

No they don't. I just checked the NYC schools calender for the year. There is something called 'spring recess'  where Easter is this year and Rosh Hashana ( a 3 day event)  is no where mentioned on any education department calender I can find.

Oh, and Christmas is also not 'observed' . No indeed, the season has the nice and banal moniker of 'Winter Recess' to describe any days off.

It Goes to show the fear that the word "Muslim" carries. Its a shame that they (meaning Politician's) caved to twist Ideology. They think if you accept them they will blend in, NO look at the UK, France, and the other idiots that though that. They don't want acceptance they want to change the USA to a Muslim Nation or destroy it. The Current powers that be are making it very easy for them, they will not conform.

George Carlin A liberal/Socialist, I never found him fun, he was like your old grouchy uncle that smoke and drank than when he woke the next day he did the same, he only found himself funny. The Pope nor Pastor's nor rabbi's are killing people or telling their followers to kill. There is big difference between ISIS and Radical Muslim and can not be compared to others. The acceptance of Muslim School days means they can recruit younger children. This is opening a Door that should of stayed shut, wait until they are in our Government (some are already)The out come is the fall of American Traditions, and more of what we are living in now.

Don't feed the Curmudgeon and Wilcat troll machine. They have decided to tag-team, and spam any thread that criticizes liberal stupidity. All in the name of 'humor' apparently.

I expect this of Wild, but Curmudgeon has gone way down in my estimation. ( Didn't have far to fall though, I guess)

Perhaps p s if I saw Muslims fighting back groups like ISSIS..Then I'd be less distrustful of them as a group..Now if Catholics started crusades and Holy wars again...I'd feel the same way toward them

HERE YOU GO

It's the Obama administration that wants the Arab nations to fight ISIS. The Republican war mongers want to put "boots on the ground". Evidently, Halliburton needs a boost in revenue..

This is not an issue of religion its people who are killing those not of their thinking and doing in the name of God. Do you think they will respect Atheist NO the 1st to go, you have no right to choose what beliefs you have. That's the difference between founding fathers and these push over politician's of today. The US Constitution is not the Bible its the right to choose what you believe in, not I'll burn you, cut your head off, crucify you if you don't. The Freedom you enjoy today on this forum to voice your Opinion would seal your end. I'll cling to my Guns & beliefs and Hope the USA of old comes back, if not the $shit will hit the fan I guess.

Here you go.  For the Winter and Spring recess they mention Christmas, Good Friday and Easter.  The kids get a whole week off here.  They also note Rosh Hashanah.  How else do they need to mention these religious holidays on the official calendar for you guys to be happy??  If it were a sunny day out and if what you thought was a liberal said "oh what a nice sunny day", you clowns would find a way to argue that what he was saying was false and untrue.  You guys are insane, and that's pretty much the end of the story here.

Thank You Papist for pointing out the ignorance of those who think NYC schools had any holidays that were labeled religious until now.  I have been busy up until now and fully expected to see the comments claiming I was wrong this morning and would have answered those posts the same way.

I notice since you posted this, none of those people has addressed the issue again.

I also notice many like to post insults about the Christian faith and religion in total, but like most Leftist Progressive Liberals, dare not ever post anything negative about Radical Islam, or even Islam in general.  The only conclusion that can be drawn for that is they are scared to death of Muslims.

When the time comes where they are forced to choose between accepting Islam or being killed, they will join the Muslims and swear total submission to all of it's religious Sharia Laws in less time than it would take to shoot them.

NYC schools do not recognize religious holidays, until now.  They have recesses timed to give the students days off to observe those days, but do not recognize them.  I wonder what they will call the days they give off for these Muslim holidays.

Why is Yom Kippur not given a day off?

I suggest you look again.  The official NYC school calendar (which I posted above) makes mention of Rosh Hashanah, Christmas, Good Friday, Easter and Passover.  I am in favor of observing these, but NOT in favor of observing the Muslim holiday, but you clowns (as is usual) are making some mighty big stretches here with the nonsense you are posting.
