Set of ears , set of legs , button buck and fawn this morning. Nothing since. I'm starting to get a bit chilly out here. Was going to slow walk in snow but I'll man up and sit til o deer thirty

42 here and wind finally stopped. Some weather supposed to hit us around 4-5 so hoping they get moving before then. I know there's a biggin in here somewhere!

One doe less though, lying on side road couple hundred yards down from where I park.

Back home in macedon hunting and the Deer are still not out or moving here either .... last hour of killing time is upon us . Let's go out with a bang on opener weekend

Saw a total of seven deer. One spiker and the rest doe or babies. Big boys must have stayed in for the night.

Just in. Had a doe come tearing past me at 50 yards. Didn't appear to be anything in pursuit. Not that I could see anyway. A flurry of desperation gunfire at 5pm as I was walking in.

 

Snow tracks seem to indicate BigBoy survived yesterday. Let's see if he turns up on cam during the coming week.

 

All in all, a somewhat quiet opener in 9H.

Deer numbers are down because of last winters 20 below zero days. Just a thought...

Yesterday saw 8 deer at 10am moving. All does and runts. Then at 130pm a 6pt that lost one rack (3pt) came the other way. Today not a damn thing. Only came in from noon to 3. That's probably when they went by my stand.

I would agree that the last two winters have had sumthing to do with it. But I have seen a bunch during bow season. I also did a few spot lighting trips a few wks back. Deer everywhere. Its hard to say. I can tell u this has been a bad season. Even during bow. I think the trickle rut the warm weather has sumthing to do with it also. I can tell u that my trail cams took lots of pics of many doe and fawns that made it threw the winter. But Mother Nature is not very nice. That's a horrible death. Thanks for the vid tho

I think there are pockets of deer. Some people are seeing deer and some are not. I hunt in 7M and we are not seeing the numbers. My dad's land 123 acres is next to state land. There were 6 trucks on the state land side. Not one shot from over there. No normal...
