Chasing just starting?

Hi Friends, headed back to camp tonight. I took several days off with these temps. Is it just heating (no pun intended) up out there or is chasing phase slowing down?

Depends on area. I was out from 1-5 yesterday and deer were not moving until just before sunset. 8m.

9f- I believe they are transitioning from seeking to chasing phase in my area. The doe are almost ready...peak rut is near.

I thought it was on a week ago when I saw a big buck following and grunting at some does. But ever since then deer, bucks and does, have just been cruising through. Found fresh scrapes the other day though…Hopefully the morning will be good.

I wouldn't know,I can't remember the last time I saw a deer in the woods.

Saw a lot of deer this weekend. Big boys were all solo, nose down, rolling through last weekend.  Saw three different shooters. 

 

This weekend Saw 7 doe, all had spikes, 4 -6 points running them hard. Saw one big boy and he was just trailing doe. ot really pushing. This is in Cortland County east and western parts of county.

Saw a bunch of small bucks this weekend.. all solo.  The doe that I saw all looked very skittish and were almost "hiding.

 

2 new bucks on camera and scrapes everywhere.  Just waiting for daytime activity

Hunting partner has two separate doe come in, one was chased by one buck and the other 2 where chasing another doe.  Other guy has a nice buck come in that he missed.  1C

So today I was out a little later, climbed a tree about 2:30 when I hear loud walking in the leaves,turn around and here comes a big 8 I have been seeing. He stops 15 yds away and trashes a bush he likes.The only problem was I had just climbed the tree and hadn't even gotten my bow pulled up yet.I thought he wouldn't be out until near dark.Yesterday he was late and I was early,today he was early and I was late.Damn.

They have been out grazing all around the house for the past hour even the larger doe , but no bucks yet.

I saw a few does this weekend, all solo.  I have pics of bucks, all at night.  Did see a good number of new scrapes.  4F.

I haven't seen any big boys yet but I think it is starting to really gear up this week. I think they will definitely be up and moving.
