DirtTime
Got an alert on the phone today saying temps in certain areas might dip to around 50 below. My area is saying 20 to 30 below. Stay warm and use a few extra layers if you have to go out.
BizCT
Yea. People freaking down here that it might be -20 with wind chill. It's not really a big deal if dressed accordingly. I took this pic in Minnesota when I was bobcat hunting. This was -21 not even counting wind chill. I was outside sunrise to sunset with no issue. And I hate the cold! wolc123
I am pretty stoked with the cold. Hopefully we will get a little snow along with it. The family and I are really looking forward to some ice-fishing and other winter sports up at the in-laws Adirondack camp next weekend. We got more than we needed last winter but at least a bit this year would be nice. Without this latest cold snap, I would have been a little apprehensive about heading out on the ice.

Good luck. For my area temps will be back in the 40's on Monday. Messed up weather that's for sure.

grampy
I'd like to do some ice fishing too. The cold doesn't bother me too much when dressed for it. But the wind is going to howl this weekend so maybe I'll take my grandsons to the ADK outdoor show instead. Monday may be a better day to hit the ice as I'm off work for Presidents day.

Nomad
Working nights, not a good time to be playing with water.... We wear the same clothes ( bunker gear ) if it -9 or 90. Can't really layer up under it very much either. All part of the gig . For Paula.... Edited February 12, 2016 by Larry302

The_Real_TCIII
My buddy works for the Elma water dept. Nights like this I'll call and pretend I'm reporting a water main break. He doesn't think I'm funny but he's wrong
Elmo
I hate the cold too but I don't complain. Most people I know who complain do so because they don't want to invest in cold weather gear or refuse to wear something other than their fashion show attire. turkeyfeathers
Brother just text. Has red wing blackbirds at feeder. Obviously they're confused. Or maybe only the smart ones migrate ?!
The_Real_TCIII
Do they definitely migrate? I've read that robins don't, they just tuck into pine trees and ride it out like the rest of us

I've read that robins don't, they just tuck into pine trees and ride it out like the rest of us I thought they did but could be wrong. I do however know that hummingbirds hitch a ride south on geese
