shawnhu
It's been a very mild winter, and Spring is here! Soon, turkey season will be upon us. So instead of making new threads about lead, what's everyone planning on doing this April? I'll hopefully be hitting some water for some Stripers or Trout! Pygmy
The Finger Lakes ( at least the deeper ones) are ice free... I fished Keuka Tuesday with 2 friends..We were looking for perch, but we found trout instead. Casting hair jigs into points in 20-40 feet of water, we caught a pickerel, a 4 pound brown and 9 lakers. Those trout were great fun on light spinning tackle in relatively shallow water.. Much more fight than when dragging them up from the depths with heavy trolling gear. airedale
I have spent much of the winter redoing my gun room-reloading room-man cave. Been going through my firearms with a bunch of what I hope to be some improvements in performance such as trigger work, action work, refinished some stocks along with some scope changing and mounting. So I have quite a bit of sighting in to do and I am looking forward to it. I plan on a bit of fishing also and have been going through that stuff too and getting it ready. As for "The Walking Lead Mongers" they are on my ignore list. Al Edited March 11, 2016 by airedale

wooly
Right now, with only one antler on the year, the future of my lamp building endeavor isn't looking so bright. I need to get out and start picking up a few more "things" in the next month or two to "shed some light" on why it's been such a despicable season so far! Perhaps they know what I have planned for them, lol

DirtTime
I went out this morning with the turkey call and did a little scouting for a few hours. We have already made reservations for a cabin camping trip with the g/f's parents for a bass fishing trip. Started planning even more tent camping trips. We are working on a plan to go every weekend it's not nasty weather. Seeing I lost my private land for this season's Spring turkey ( logging issues ), looking at topo maps for two state land areas. Started my personal debate on a new bow or another shotgun. Lots of grilling. Trying to move out of the wretched city! New line on the fishing reels.

wooly
Those are already sold but I'll be putting a few more together soon. Maybe one or two will eventually find their way into the classifieds, but right now it's easier to make them for local pick up without having to ship.

maytom
Still working in my woodshop, trying to set up a finishing room, so I will have a place for a dust free stain/finishing place. Also want to got out and pattern my turkey gun again, just to make sure everything is set to go for the opener.
Rockspek
My April plans are basically to work my tail off and somewhere in there I want a better garden than the pathetic poor excuse of a garden I had last year.
Daveboone
Heading up to the camp today....It is a good opportunity to clean up wind falls, wander the deer trails, and just see what the melting snow can reveal. I hope soon to get to the gun club to test fire a vintage Krag Jorgenson I got at an auction a year ago...if it has any accuracy, I would love to use it next fall. I also need to open up the boat and get it primped for the season. We have a new depth finder, and want to rearrange the seating .

Water Rat
I'm waiting on the sawbellies and then hitting the reservoirs. Wouldn't mind making a couple of tree stands somewhere. Might have to find some time for yard work though.
