Id beg to differ.  Ron Paul received more donations from active military personnel in his 2012 run for president than all other candidates combined.  I think that holds some weight.

But where in the video does he offer a solution to illegals and an open border?  Besides 2012 was almost 5 years ago now.  Where's his outrage today?

 

I say they don't care because all they are doing is criticizing a wall, yet offer no real solutions to a wall.

There are solutions, like deportation, cutting off freebies totally, arrest, incarceration and huge fines for employers of illegals.  Nobody in the videos, or in public for that matter, is standing up for any of that.

The last time I crossed into Canada, the Canadian boarder agent was the biggest prick on the planet. Rude, arrogant and talking down to me….If my wife and kids weren't with me it would have been an International incident. I still remember that little man syndrome, prick, douche face. Im all in favor of people who want a wall to be built to donate their hard earned money for it.  Im good with my taxes already.   They're already being used frivolously .  Ill also pass on a wall that has snipers on it.  Nobody wants a gun registry in this country because it could be a double edge sword, where the good intentions are possibly used for bad.  But you are ok with a wall with snipers that won't let anyone in or out.  Sounds like a martial law wet dream.

What most people don't understand is that you do not need a wall along the entire border.

 

There are many places where it is totally unnecessary, due to many factors, such as accessibility, or the fact that it is easily monitored by BP. A good wall in some areas, along with the BP, sensors, etc., would be a vast improvement. Some walls/fences are already there and could be improved. (see video) 

 

The BP has about 25,000 Agents. But some are on the northern border, some patrol the waterways, and some are on their day off. I am guessing on any particular day there are 10,000 Agents on duty at the southern border, but probably less.

 

Had to edit, There must be a lot less Agents then that on duty at one time. You have to consider court time, training, and vacations.

Im not in favor if a wall. It will be a burden in the taxpayers once again. just cause im not in favor if a wall doesn't mean i am happy with our current situation. But you gave some good points in your response that would curb illegals. How about we start enforcing our laws already!!! Lol. Thats where we could start. Also look at why people are coming. If we didn't incentivize them they wouldnt come illegally. Hit them in their pockets and we solve the problem. But we have politicians who pander to illegals for votes yet on the other side we have farmers who hire illegals to save a buck. Simple reason America will never solve illegal immigration, Democrats want thier votes and Republicans the cheap labor they simply. Its a win-win for both sides with very little downside. As long as those who hire illegal immigrants suffer no penalties they will keep doing so enticing the illegals to keep on crossing the border.
