I hadn't shot my bow in the basement over the winter months like I had done in the past . It has been quite hot out so I hadn't been shooting outside either . Yesterday afternoon I grabbed the bow and my bucket with arrows and went out back . Shot 3 series of 7 arrows each . Half way through I was pretty much okay . 

Something didn't look right and I thought , where is my string loop and the peep seemed different . Then it dawned on me that my hunting bow was in a case and I was shooting my 70# Parker Phoenix instead of my Ben Pearson TX-4 with the Moog string on it . 

Anyway , I plan to shoot at least 5 times a week until October 1st .

I had a rude awakening yesterday when my buddy called to say the 3D league we shoot in starts the 1st week in Aug ! All the shooting i have been doing was trying to get the Impulse to shoot as good as the Z28 . This year has flown by.

I agree....8/3 our club starts it's weekly 15 3d target course.....competition rig will be shelved till November and the hunting rig will have its time to shine!
Wont bother keeping score....looking for all heart shots on the 3d animals.

I'm in but...I have only shot two arrows in my life but I just got a bow last week so I'm sure my first shot is gonna be one to humor everyone.

Glad to hear you're gonna start with the bow. Come on over sometime if you want someone to shoot with. I've bowhunted for about the last 19 years. Have you checked out the range at Bullseye yet?

It is free. They have a donation can there to help withe the costs. tower to simulate treestand shooting. 3D's out to 60 yards (I believe) Bag targets out to 60...(maybe 70) and a big big big target at 100.



Yea it's by far the widest skills shoot rang I've ever been to...and I think their indoor range is 30 at least

it's a good idea... why wait.  no distance constraints.  whatever you're comfortable with or feel like shooting at.  first arrow.  no warm ups.  no reason to slam another person for posting something honest either.  limit criticism to harmless banter.  I had a first and second shot that I took a picture of that was inspired by this idea last evening.
