alloutdoors
Spent three nights camping in the Adirondacks near Long Lake. The lake we were on had a decent number of loons, pretty happy with what I was able to come away with. Here's a small selection of images, all shot from a kayak.
stoneam2006
Awesome they are by far the coolest birds I've ever encountered also in the daks....we had them swimming under our boat and comming up on other side just cool....great picsSent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
turkeyfeathers
Great pics. One of my favorite memories of Alaska in 2009 was hearing loons on the lake in Talkeetna. The lake had fog rolling off it and barely visible and the loons were singing. Gives me goose bumps thinking about it.

Last night I went down to the beach at around 11pm to shoot star photos and they were calling then as well, they were still at it when I was drifting off to sleep at around midnight.

Pygmy
Actually, the birds in Real's pictures could be most any bird you want them to be... Personaly, I think they were the last remnant of the nearly extinct Kazooniezoonie bird. The Kazooniezoonie bird is nearly extinct due to it's strange social habit of flying in ever decreasing concentric circles until it flies up its own a**hole....

DirtTime
Most of us on here are 'loons'. Great pics. I love listening to them whenever I am near a lake.
