Predator hunt tonight

Recommended Posts

Just left Andrews.  Absolutely great host and guide.   And a blast to hang with.  He did his part and got me on some eyes.  Pretty exciting.   I on the other hand did not hold up my end of the bargain.   There is a fox running around Alden with a reverse Mohawk.   Hair no blood.   But still total success on having a fun hunt with a cool friend.  Thanks Andrew.  Next time I will try to aim a bit better!   I am hooked.

Sounds like an awesome hunt moog! And no doubt with treeguy's experience, it shortened the learning curve a bit. Just getting a predator to respond, and come in for a shot, is more than half the fun!!!  Huge props to treeguy, for taking out a newby!

How do I miss these threads ? Lol. Late to the party. I guess it's better that I missed this thread, than IF I MISSED A DOG !!!!! Lol. Good times! If we weren't old and it wouldn't have started snowing I think we could have done some more damage. Just glad to share the woods ! Glad u made the trip my friend !

Btw. Watch Ur gear around Moog... Dudes got sticky fingers!

And you used to say you wouldn’t hunt anything but deer. See the rush of predators?

Going out to a Clarence spot with TreeGuy so he can show me the ropes. Plus I heard from somewhere he likes to give away scan lights to all his clients ..
I'm juiced for tonight. Hoping this snow let's up... Great spot..tracks...perfect field setup... Yep. We are gonna see something ! And I have to admit, taking Moog taught me a few things, first was how to miss (something I was unfamiliar with) and also to do an inventory prior to departure. I can't afford to make those mistakes again, literally. Lol.

Got out for my first set in 5 or more years Saturday. Had my buddy with me who has been calling, trapping and just killing them for many years now. Called in a young male right before dark.. the rest of the night was slow, heard a few dogs barking and howling from where we killed him a little while after.. that is it with the 4 next sets. Maybe this weekend if I can get out.  Was hoping to see a set of predator eyes in a red light though. Maybe next time.. this stuff is addicting to say the least!

My other buddy/neighbor hunts them hard too, he went out the same night just a few hills over from us.. He put a hurting on them as he usually does lol

Good luck guys. E Call or mouth call? Ever use the Mojo Critter decoy that moves? I never tried the decoy at night.

FoxPro and the foxjack decoy on top. I was just telling sodfather I can't even remember how many fox have knocked over the call or attacked the decoy. Awesome sight to see. I recommend shooting before that happens though....
