Now, let's see how fast the Obomber folks will be saying Obama is the hero cause he got the bad guy, and that will be there rally call to reelect the dumb ass.

He's a politician, what politician would not take credit for something like this no matter what party he belonged to??  Plus, some who are not giving him any credit for this would have been the first to blast him if the mission had somehow failed.  I must say that Obama has had a pretty good few days.  He showed Trump that birth certificate that he wanted to see, then he humiliates him at that function they both attended.  Obama kept telling everyone that he had more important issues to handle than to discuss irrelevant issues like where he was born, and then out of the blue they catch & kill Bin Laden.  His best week of his presidency in my opinion.

As far as I am concerned, I will not fault anyone who feels like celebrating the death of this piece of trash. And if our people feel like dancing in the streets, or breaking out singing the national anthem on the subway or any other patriotic displays that they feel moved to engage in, I am just glad that they still care enough to let their feelings show. Personally I celebrate the fact that justice has finally been served. I celebrate the message that was sent that this planet is not big enough to hide in when we are attacked. I think a celebration is called for and deserved and I refuse to cast a wet blanket on anyone who openly celebrates the removal of this piece of filth.

As far as the method of disposing of the body, I have heard the reasons, and they sound quite logical to me. Frankly, to the conspiracy theorists, I would say that nobody is stupid enough to falsely claim that kind of victory knowing tha if alive, Bin Laden could publicly show up whenever he wanted to. I can well imagine the propaganda disaster that would result and find it impossible to imagine that anyone would take that kind of risk for absolutely no benefit. So while it would appear that doubting the honesty of our country and leaders is becoming the nation's latest most popular pastime, a little common sense might be useful in putting these wild conspiracy theories to rest. I can assure you that there is plenty of forensic evidence that was taken to prove exactly who it was.

He could have been dumped into the sea in a few days or a in a couple of weeks.  Of all people we surely didn't have to abide by Muslim tradition for this guy.  To me it just doesn't make sense dumping his body so quickly when we were pursuing him for 10 long years and even went to war in Afghanistan to find him and destroy his organization.  We displayed Saddam's sons when we killed them for all the doubters and media to witness.  Same should have happened with Bin Laden.

I say the hell with the doubters. If they want to prove he is alive, then they should have at it. I personally see no reason to even question it or prove it for the reasons I explained above.

Doc, I myself don't question it, but why on earth would we want to follow Muslim tradition for this guy?  Does he deserve any respect whatsoever?  I am not saying we need to drag his body thru the streets or hang him by his nuts on Times Square, but we should have displayed his body on a wooden butcher board and invited all diplomats of countries that harbor terrorists to take a good look at him.  At the same time we could have reminded them that we are a nation that will never cease in finding those that want to bring it down.  Talk about a Kodak moment, that surely would have been it.  Afterwards you can dump him in the ocean of your choice.

I really do like some of the suggestions you have for his body .... lol. In terms of following the Muslim traditions, I have to admit that I am not a public relations expert for that area of the world , but I would think in terms of future diplomacy with any of the Muslim countries over there, it probably is not a real good idea to prove their gut-feel about the western infidels by acting like muslim haters when handling and disposing of his body. I don't know, but I am just guessing that those kinds of decisions are not based on any concern or respect for Bin Laden but rather to keep things Kool with religious concerns of the entire area. Just a guess .... Like I say I am not any kind of expert in diplomacy.

Has anyone heard an official comment out of Packistan yet?

This is what I am waiting for. How the heck they are going to explain his having a rather large and elaborate compound 60 miles from the Pakistan capital while they were telling us that they had no info that he was even in their country ..... that is going to be quite an interesting tale.

What will be even more interesting is whether the U.S. government will press the issue (publicly). This is most likely just another example of us giving away millions in foriegn aid, building up a country that harbors and supports our enemies. You want some cash to help balance our budget? ..... This might be a good place to look for some. Ah but then, these decisions are never so easy and obvious are they?

Pakistan has been playing both sides of the fence for a long time now. We are wasting our tax dollars on such a corrupt government. We got Osama now lets get out . Save our money for a more loyal alley who doesn't take our money and laugh at us. Well look who's laughing now, not Osama or his Pakistany buddies.

From what I understand, the DNA test came back today 99.9% that it was Bin Laden. They also are trying to decide whether or not to release the pictures of his brains blown out, so they do have proof! As far as the burial, who knows what they really did. Hopefully they pissed on him and dumped him into shark infested waters!

Hopefully they dipped him in pigs blood before they dumped him off of the ship. My earlier suggestion of putting his head on a stake was just me being nice. I couldnt type what Id really rather they have done with him.  :P

I have read reports of them criticizing us for it, then others that they are glad it happened. I say F Pakistan. They knew he was there, you have to be really dumb to think they didnt. CNN had their ex-president on the phone today and he was trying to say he had never said that Bin Laden was not in Pakistan. He has been on record saying just that more than once. That country needs to pay, in one way or another, for harboring him. We originally said that if we caught a country harboring him that they would pay the piper. We should cut all ties with them and let India have their way with them.

I have to agree with you there, He is a politician. And being such, will do what they do. Make them selfs look good whenever possible.

Just glad that there can now be some closure for the families that lost loved ones on that day back in Sept.

Right, let India take care of them.  :)

A reporter asked people in Islamabad if they thought it was a good thing that Bin Laden was finally dead.. not one person said it was a good thing... who's side do you think Pakistan is on? Or the Muslem world for that matter... the president says this is not a war on Islam.. I beg to differ

Some of the post-Bin Laden comments are starting to turn my stomach. First of all we have a bunch of the pinko liberal wackos complaining about the spontaneous celebrations that broke out across the nation over the killing of that filthy dog. Apparently people are forgetting exactly what it was that this pig orchestrated. How quickly people forget. Or perhaps it is just that it somehow makes them feel morally superior and aloof to be able to criticise those that find retribution and justice to be sweet. I think that reaction could have been predicted just knowing how people often try to feign superiority with such outrageous criticisms.

Second, regarding whether Bin Laden had a gun or not, apparently it turns out that he did not ..... or so goes the latest story. Frankly I don't give a rat's behind if he did or not. As far as I am concerned, if they had knelt him down and shot him in the back of the head, it would have been fine with me.

Lastly, I read a letter-to-the-editor from the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and this jerk was questioning the propriety of sending "trained asassins" into a foriegn country to take out our public enemy number 1. Well, I don't know what can be said about that level of stupidity. It's just another ridiculous and ignorant reaction to a very important victory for justice.

Well Doc we know where their loyalties lye. Maybe if it was their family and friends who died on 9-11 they might have a different attitude. It didn't personally touch their lives so now they pick apart the results. We waited 10 yrs and that was too long to get justice but we have it now, don't let a bunch of liberals steal our thunder.

They are not all liberal.  Many from religious backgrounds and conservative have had similar sentiments.  I guess to some degree they have a point.  Eventhough he deserved what he got, we maybe shouldn't stoop to a barbaric level where we cheer like we are still at an arena where people were being thrown and eaten by lions.  Then again humanity has evolved very little over the years.  Technologically we may have advanced, but in other ways we are no different to when we carried spears and walked barefoot.  Most people would still stone to death those who cross them if they could somehow get away with it.  In most cases the good feeling that revenge brings pushes aside any straight and reasonable thinking.
