Lifetime Hunting licence

I do not usually share too much, but I am busting at the seams... Gonna be a grampa again!... this is #5 grandbaby and it is a boy!

I want to get him his lifetime hunting license right off the bat.  Can anyone tell me how to do this?  I know I could easily look this up but I would much rather hear you folks talk about this and steer me in the right direction....  My son in law is an avid deer hunter and we want to introduce the new family member to a life of outdoor enjoyment!  Hunting camp is growing!

Congrats you can take his birth certificate to any place that sells hunting licenses and buy it for him.

Once he's of age to take the hunting course he can take the course then he'll get his tags.

Thanks for the input!  I can just imagine him 35 years later think that Gramps helped him out and helped him get started!  I think  our family is going to have some priceless memories on the way!

Great idea! It'll be much cheaper now than if you get it when hes of age. Itll be payed off with in 10 years and then he'll have 50 more years at least of free hunting.

You will need a copy of mom or dad's driver's license and copy of birth certificate. The Driver's license is to ensure NYS resident, and congrats.

My grandfather bought both my son's lifetime licenses even though I wanted to help pitch in he didn't care and wanted it as a gift from him. A gift for a lifetime he said.

You have until the age of 3 before the price goes up. Add ons like a bow stamp are the same price regardless of age . I plan on getting my son a lifetime this year.

However the age is under 5 for the first price change.  My dad just got my 2 daughters lifetime licenses - age 3 & 4 and they were same price.

Looks like it will cost $380 for the Lifetime Hunting & Fishing for those under five years of age.  You can do add on's for bow, muzzleloader...but there is no discount for age.
