14 yards, shot a deer in there two years ago in woods at 35, right about where this turkey is standing, then 1/2 hour later a nice buck came in but not where i could get a shot.  He was following another doe and the doe went right in front of my stand and pissed and thought for sure he would come in but he never came out of brushline for a shot.  I actually see more deer in the woods than field most days.

Wasnt in the woods but i was checking fields that are right next to stateland i hunt on my way home this morning and saw 2 bucks one was about the size of my big 8 which scored mid 90s(not huge but big for me).  The other one looked like he was double him.  Both still in velvet.

Plan on taking a slow walk to check cam this afternoon.may have to bring .22 for some red squirrel evictions,pre bow season.pics to come

Ahhh it feelz good to be in the woods.view from stand is still really green!!!!brought the .17hmr along for the walk.saw one grey so far and a red that buzzed up the tree beside me

The only thing i can think of is the hammer extension hitting the adjustment if the scope was slid forward more??not sure though as it wasnt something i had done

I thought about it but no bear on cam yet this year and I was too dam hot the one chance I had. If I make it to camp in time tomorrow I may for a hour or so

my plan was for the 21st to go out and do a walk about in early bear country up north but hunting bears on public land when forecast is for 83 on sat isnt sounding very productive.
