Probably had nothing to do with sighting in his rifle. Looks like it was a long range shot, rounds hit high, so he wasnt doing his part with the correct hold over.

Ive shot deer at longer range (250+) and had the other ones near them just look around. Deer dont know what gun shots are. When I used to shoot alot of skeet and clays, we would have deer wandering around while we were shooting, sometimes at 100 yards or less.
