Otto
Uh oh....basil got holes?!? Why and how can I prevent it?!)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You can use Sevin dust or spray. But then you can't harvest for 10 days (I believe, may be 7 days....)If it's only a few, just discard like Biz is doing. If it is a lot of the plant, i would dust or spray.Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
E J
Here are some candy onions I planted in my high tunnel. They are much bigger than the ones I planted in the field. The biggest ones are about 4 inches in diameter. The first couple tomatoes got ripe yesterday in the tunnel.

Tomatoes always seem to take forever to ripen and the next thing you know you are picking tomatoes every single day until the fall.

They will still ripen just stop growing. And a good recipe for you.... slice a green tomato, egg wash and bread crumbs and fry it. then a piece of canadian bacon/bacon on it, an over easy egg, and some hollandaise sauce. A version of eggs benedict with a twist.

If you have that many Japanese beetles , than you probably have white grub infestations under the surface of your lawn eating the roots of the grass. Sometimes you can see the Japanese beetles fly up out of the lawn just before dark. That's all Japanese beetles are......white grubs that matured. Just my .02 cents.
