How does your garden grow

That hurricane really put a hurting on my garden. 1 zucchini plant died. The tomatoes got bent in half and haven't been the same. They toppled over the cukes, which also haven't been the same. YTD totals below:

  • Cukes 74
  • Zuchinni 25
  • Juliet Grape Tomatoes 82
  • Jetstar Tomatoes 2 (disappointing because so many green ones at one point)
  • Basil 13 cups worth (should have another 2 cups to pick tomorrow)
  • Jalapenos 9 (only 1 plant, but it's producing a second batch it appears)
  • Bell Peppers 3 (only 2 plants, but there might a few more to harvest soon)

Drooling!  I have a lot of basil ready to pick, just no time to make the pesto.  Are you using a mortar and pestle to grind it?

Hell to the no for me! Food processor- throw in basil, chopped garlic, grated Parmesan, salt, pepper & toasted nut of some kind(I like almond- Biz’s secret is cashew-traditional is pine nut).
Pulse until chopped up and then drizzle olive oil in while processing until reached the desire consistency. Taste and adjust salt/grated cheese.

15 minutes from picking to pesto!

Crappy is right. I pick it, rinse it, let it dry and then make it a few hours later. It's quick, easy, and tastes amazing. So here is my secret recipe:

2 Cups Basil

1 Cup Freshly Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese

1 Cup Roasted UNSALTED Cashews

1 Cup California Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 or 2 TBSP of chopped garlic

1 or 2 TBSP of lemon juice

20 cranks of black Pepper

10 cranks of salt

Everything in the food processor and hit Pulse. It covers 1lb of pasta and 1lb of shrimp, and we have leftover pesto for dipping the next few days (bread, crackers, or just a spoonful!- it's that good!)

Has an exoskeloton/carapace, open circulatory system, no real respiratory organ, many legs, antennas, and eats left over food that falls to the floor.  Reminds you of anything?  My brother calls them the cockroaches of the ocean just to help @Biz-R-OWorld and @Bionic  with a visual.  Still, I can eat shrimps and crabs all day long.

Love them.  Chicken the best.  My dad who likes all kinds of liver too tried the one from my first deer and told me to toss them out because it was horrible so I have never tried venison liver.

I love lobster, crab, shrimp. But I won't eat liver. I really don't care what a species does. I only care about flavor. If coyote tasted good, I would eat it.
