rob-c
What’s your thoughts on these ? Do they actually make a difference from standard 209’s with 777 ?
Arcade Hunter
I cant say for lack of experience, but I use these with white hots and they seem to work just fine.

I've used both and didn't see any difference at 100 yards.
mowin
I have a few hundred standard 209's from when I loaded shotshell in the late 90's. Wasn't about to buy so called special ML primers with these on hand. Never had a issue.
Jeremy K
Arnt they just a weaker charge so they don't dislodge the load before it fully cumbusts?
rachunter
The difference is how hot they burn. The regular 209 shotgun primers burn hotter then the ones designed for muzzle loaders. The theory is it doesn’t melt the sugar based powder that leaves the ring at the breech of the barrel. I never found it to be true. Daveboone
With triple 7 powder I found more consistent ignition and groups than standard primers. Black powder no diff.

They should i've used them with other substitute powders with no problems. It might be wise for everyone to grab a few packs before they disappear like regular 209 primers.I still see them in walmart. Buckmaster7600
Arnt they just a weaker charge so they don't dislodge the load before it fully cumbusts? This is the difference, it’s a slower burn rate in the primer. Supposed to not move charge before it ignites and make a more even ignition of the pellets. I never noticed a difference, the pellets still left a burn ring from the glue and never gave great accuracy.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trad bow
Ok my dad is just got an in-line and bought a bunch of these primers at Runnings in Canandaigua. We haven’t shot it yet but are going to be shooting white hots , sounds like they will work. I shoot a flintlock and a percussion sidelock so it’s all foreign to me. sbuff
Wasn't it originally a marketing ploy to eliminate the crud ring caused by using t7.

sbuff
Still the same old crud ring . I think I had my best luck with the Remington clean bore but the crud ring was still there.

Tons of crud left behind .
