I applied for my permit on Jan 9,2012 and today I was at the county building and stopped in to check the status of my permit. Next thing I know the lady behind the counter says you just saved me from mailing it out.Waited a few minutes for her to finished up the paper work and walked out with my concealed pistol permit. Now its time to go shopping.

nice, i had mine sent out the first of march, hopin to get that back sometime mid summer. im buying a Ruger SR22 cuz there super cheap to shoot all day if i want to. eventually i'll buy an SR9 but the expense of ammo is causing me to put it on the backburner for now.

Congrats!!! I was waiting for mine for 17 months, ugh!!!! Check out SIG P250 in 9mm modular gun and you can change the calibers if you so desire later for a fraction of the new gun. It has DAO trigger (double action only) and it has a long trigger pull so its not for everyone. I personally love it and it is smooth as butter.

What do you have your eye on?

Revolver or semi auto?

Brand?

Chambering?

congrats on your permit. My county judge doesnt give concealed carry permits out. The only time he does is if you are a business owner. I have my eye on one of 3 pistols, I want to use for home protection of course but mainly I want to be able to shoot in tactical matches. The 3 I like are Sig Sauer p250 full size, Glock 19 and Smith and Wesson M&P9 pro series. However I havnt shot any of these before, and the shops with ranges around me do not rent guns to use.... any suggestions?? I want to be able to shoot quickly so I am not sure sig p250 will be able to do that

Good point...APPLY FOR PISTOL PERMIT NOW!!!!! I got my permit 50 years ago when it was a helluva lot easier. My grandson turns 21 in July...I will get him working on his permit application as soon as he does.

I currently own three handguns. Over the years, I think I have owned 8 or 9 total. Of these, I have never owned one that I found easy to carry. So for those buying their first handgun, I suggest you carefully evaluate the carry options. Evaluate holsters and carry options at the same time you evaluate handguns.
