I pulled 8 cards last week. This was the first picture I saw from that bunch. Everything else was "eh".

 

I need to figure out how to load the video i have of these same three deer.

Believe you have to download to a video site like YouTube, then post the link here.

Something happened to him during his growth period.... not sure what.

Had some other good shots too.... I think the same three deer mostly.

I try not to get too excited because there deer on my cams are hardly ever seen during the hunting season.  But they are around there!

I was able to pull 2 cards last night before I set up in my tree stand.  

I think this was the buck I drew on last night.

Above picture shows him at almost the same time I saw him a day later, only about 150 yards away.  He seems to be a resident!

I don't think the 10/14 and 10/27 bucks are the same. The 10/14 buck has much longer G3 tines and longer beams. Just a significantly bigger rack overall.

Biz, I think you are right, I may have posted the wrong daytime photo of him. I’ll try to kill both of them so we can compare more accurately.

I don't usually name deer, but this one gets one: Crossover.  I like how the front antler points crossover his brow tines.  I would like to have a closer inspection!

Did your buck stay put? My cams have been eerily quiet for the last week. It's as if all the deer cleared out. They're in the northern Catskills so I would assume the rut should be in full swing...

I saw a nice one that has been around all summer just last week. But i have yet to see Crossover. I do have pics of him from Halloween, so still recently in the area. I'm not sure the rut has started in CNY just yet. I'm thinking next week.

Crossover is still around, I need to be here when he passes here again.  It's a hard area to get into without leaving scent but the clock is ticking.....
