Thanks to some member advice regarding the use of deer decoys, I successfully harvested this buck this afternoon who showed up to fight my buck decoy. He came in sideways ready to bust it up but never made it. Cake shot at 15 yards dressed 165. Very happy and thanks to the forum members !!6 points

I get to my stand this morning and I can't find my Bushnell cam. It's missing. My brother in law did not move it. To top it off its private land. If I find you I will cut your nuts off and hang you upside down from the tree.5 points

The blind was built for a very good friend of mine that had MS. At that time he was wheel chair bound, But still loved being out hunting. The blind is only 600 yds behind the house so getting him in there was not a big deal.He was an avid outdoorsman right up to when he passed away this July. We always hunted and fished together .Every time I go near this a flood of memories come to me .He is missed3 points

Just wanted to say thanks for allowing me to register on this forum and surprised I had not found this site earlier. I have been previously on Chucks message boards for the past 5 years due to the fact I had primarily hunted with my Savage MLII smokeless muzzleloader until Cayuga County adopted the rifle season. The ever elusive whitetail is my passion and when I started bow hunting again it got even worse ---according to the wife. I hunt mostly in Cayuga County and hunt pretty much 90 % of the season from bow to late muzzleloader. I have read thru a lot the posts and it seems like a great group of guys. So thanks once again and hope to post a pict of the one that Ive been after for awhile now.3 points

I would think that just refunding the money would be a better idea than having any type of bad publicity spread about your business, whether or not it's true...........if just 5 people a year decide not to use you because of the negative reports, you're gonna be out a little more than the 2g's.2 points

Most who post on here from my experience are more in the southern part of the state where hunting is entirely different than us northern hunters. I see it differently and I hunt near the Gouverneur area. I have woods I have swamps and I have fields. The bog difference is we do not have the deer, and patterns here are different. I am lucky if I get a dmp every 5 years as they are very restricted. The activity here seems to generally be about 10 days to 2 weeks behind what almost everyone on here sees. But again the deer population makes a huge difference. Hell if I see 8 to 10 deer in a season, I am doing well. I have ample food cover water and arrangement, I just do not have the deer. Hence we have to also hunt differently. to be successful. The tough part is getting guys with 2 or 3 dmps and chances at extras in November to understand how hunting here is. They are way to used ot seeing a lot of sign and activity. If most hunted where we are, they would give up after a week of seeing maybe one or two deer in that week. I have had the past two weeks off and I hunted every day but yesterday and have seen 5 deer in 2 weeks. It is entirely different here for sure.2 points

He cashed your check and hopefully you have backup paperwork as well. Get the authorities involved right away. That alone may change his tune.2 points

Whoo...when he said hang...it was upside down....nothing about killing....I'm just saying...Don't make finding him easy....1 point

Kind of bold to deny a refund on a hunter web site. Seems almost like a taunt. Besides if I took someone's two thousands dollars and said for an extra 3000 we can go here, or I just keep the 2G's and we go nowhere I'd rather not be alone in the woods with them, especially with a firearm.1 point

If you book so hunts why not just give him back his money and prove him wrong on how bad you are? Seems like that would be great FREE advertisement for you, because at this point I am sure none of us would book with you.1 point

The definition of what is ethical will vary with each hunter. I agree that it is very very important for each bowhunter to recognize their limitations and to stay within those limitations. What is ethical is not cut and dried however. While I'm sure there are certain ethical matters that everyone will agree on, there is much grey area and perhaps hunting in the rain is one of them, and of course, you must define what you mean by rain. There are just too many variables to pass judgement on another hunter (at least in this case, IMO). Where I begin to have issues is when someone thinks that their definition of ethics is the only one and adopt a "holier than thou" attitude--and I'm not directing that at any particular person. If the shoe fits..... Passing judgement in a condescending way usually results in one's comments getting totally rejected versus making a suggestion in a less offensive way, which may get the person on the receiving end to listen.1 point

And if you can fool a mature doe you can fool any deer in the woods. God they're annoying though.1 point

Ok I smell a rat here. These two are working together to get the word out about this guy. Suddenly after a complaint post this guy appears and pushes his business. Seems way too fishy to me. How did the guy know someone was dissing him? Take it all with a big grain of salt.1 point

The doe that hang out by the stand can be a blessing or the biggest B#tches ever, they always let you know if something is coming that you cant see or hear yet , and they will always let the other deer know if they see you.1 point

There is/was no deer. The OP is/was a hoax. I am sure/positive he/she is a fraud. I like/love using that little slash/thingy that looks like a I in the wind.........../ Yea, your damn right I'm wacky today. I should be in the woods but I worked hard and late (hard/late) last night and I/m whipped. AND...............the weather man said it would rain and it ain't raining. I took the dog for a walk and it is PERFECT out. SOB............................. Ahh, no problem. I have a long list of things to do today that need doing. Sorry for the side track of such a fine thread.........................................................................................................................1 point

+1 to Jala. Also it isn't a bad idea to walk the woods and look for some fresh sign. Maybe those hot spots last year aren't so hot this time around. I have stands that are in the same situation. You don't have to go stomping around, but after a morning sit do a nice slow walk through and see what you can find.1 point

Gluck all. In my blind. Beaut of a morn. Neighboring camp arrived last night. The old men dont even get up until 7 or 8 so i am hoping the push 1 my way..1 point

Sounds good. Saw 4 last night after the wind stopped...All bucks, 3 little guys and 1 nice buck but his right side was just a big wide bladed beam. Headed back down now. Gunna be a good day on stand here today!1 point

Maybe the hunter who captured the photo could send that to Cuddeback. Maybe get a free camera just for the publicity...1 point

yeah, if you can find that camera, you will know where all the deer eat and sleep! That is a pretty slick trick. I need to try and get one velcroed on a deer where I hunt!!1 point

I have no issue with those kinds of hunts, unless its being passed off as a deer you shot wild. If someone wants to drop 3000 on a pen deer then that great, go nuts.1 point

You are right on about that! I had a friend who once worked in the deli department at a grocery store. She told me that the ham salad was made by all the leftover ends of the hams. The ham pieces would sit in a bucket until there was enough to make the salad. She said many times the pieces of ham were so old they were covered with a green sheen. She said that after grinding they would mix a packet of red colored Kool-Aid so as to give it a pink, fresh appearance. I have NEVER eaten ham salad or any kind of meat salad from the deli ever since she told me that story and that's been a lot of years ago.1 point

Sounds like you are jumping to conclusions here, and alot of them. How do you know what the situation was that led to the arrow in the deer? You cant, so to say theres no sportsmanship in the situation, or that it was dumb kids, or anything but the fact that the deer has an arrow in it, is pure assumption. Deer travel miles sometimes, especially bucks at this time of the year, so theres nothing to say this happened anywhere near your home. As has been said, call the DEC, they will take care of it.1 point

Huh? First answer.. No. Second answer... No. Third answer....You wouldn't have the guy's camera by chance?1 point

No law against carrying a loaded gun on the road. It is illegal to hunt from the road or to shoot from or across the road, but to my knowledge there is no law prohibiting BEING in or on the road with a loaded firearm. The dude is perfectly within his rights to walk down the road with a loaded gun to protect himself from pumacougars, catamounts, hobgoblins, werewolves, zombies, or deranged Mongolian Jughumpers as long as he is not HUNTING or firing the gun FROM or ACROSS the road.1 point
