Green Drake- May I inquire where in 6K you are. I am astraddle the 6K/5H boundary near Remsen. -
Cynthiafu- Postal money order is in the mail to you. My guess is it should be in your Tuesday mail.
-
Cynthia- how much do you want for the suspenders?
-
Cynthia- Do I see some suspenders in one of the photos? Are they conventional suspenders (braces) or are they for the waders? If conventional, do they have the leather ends or metal clips?

Nytracker- I also rent a Billygoat. Like it but it is a lot more than $35/day. Can I inquire who you rent from? Have also used the DR brush mower and a Craftsman. They all seem to work wekk. -

12 gauge pump, with cantilivered rifled slug barrel, 18 inch open choked barrel (for social occasions) and a 24 inch barrel with multiple screw-in chokes. would be good for any game in the eastern United States. -
looking good.

turkeyfeathers- your mini-nachos look essentially the same as mine, except I use a beef-sausage mix for the meat and I pipe in sour cream before sprinkling on the grated cheese. sometimes topped with a pickled Jalapeno ring. Those Scoops made it a easy dish to make and travel with. This or devilled eggs is my go to party/bbq/picnic dish to bring.

Afghanistan falls in a week, WTH?

I am afraid some Americans will be "detained" (captured). I think Biden should volunteer to replace some of the captured, maybe like ten of them. Same with Kamala. -
"The Monkey that became President", was one of my favorites back in the day, listening on my 8-track. Liked him for his storytelling/ ballad compositions. Song is appropriate considering our latest president. /

I believe that part of this deployment is to allow a safety Zone in Kabul where we are very slowly processing requests of our former Afghan allies and workers (including interpreters) to get them out of country. We promised them this and we need to deliver.

I had hoped for the following outcome: He stays Governor for the remainder of his term, tearing apart the different factions. He gets the Democratic nomination, which pisses off the Working Families party. Working Family runs their own candidate (like Zephyr Teachout). The Republicans run a moderate, middle of the road candidate and take the Governorship. Alas, that is not to be.

looks like a good sized garter snake to me. Harmless, although it may nip a person if picked up.

the village of Westernville got hit with a tornado about 10 days ago. Immediately north of there they had a flood on the mohawk River. Some had to be evacuated by boat.

I've got a new metal roof. I'm being seranaded right now. Que up "raindrops keep falling on my head"

Pretty heavy thunderstorms coming down from the Watertown, St. Lawrence area. Seem to be slow movers. This is sort of "40 days and 40 Nights".

yeah, was thinking about the recoil. The 9 lbs. should calm it down a little.

very handsome gun. How much does it weigh?

So that tall yellow plant that looks like queen Ann’s lace … ouch

wild parsnip is in the same family as giant hogweed, as is celery. Some folks react very badly to it. Once you get it on you, get out of the sun. Wear long sleeves, wide brimmed hat and a face shield when working with it. In northern Oneida County it is rampant. Same species as domestic parsnip, but gone WILD. Root is edible (although somewhat woody). When weed whipping/brush cutting I'm covered up like a mummy. Make sure you do not rub your eyes!!!! -
Ruger hiring people and they are getting desperate
Farflung replied to Grouse's topic in General Chit Chat
wonder what this is going to mean for Rugers product quality? -
i use them for spring turkey and trout fishing. work very well. Only negative I have heard about them, a buddy was in Ontario spring bear hunting and one of his fellow hunters had the thermacell between his legs. He used a poncho to make a little tent and he got a little sick. Was fine the next morning. When I have a wafer that I have just started, I put it in a small baby food jar. Seems to keep them for at least a couple of weeks.

If you were thinking about a morning charter, T-K charters is the best. Have been going out with them for 16 years. Usually high boat most days. 315/796-2153. Captain Bob. If he's booked ask him for his reccomendation. shore fishing is along the walkway on the western side of the river. Bring a long handled net. Or fish the shore in front of Fort Niagara. Smallmouth bass, perch and lots of gobys.

What's best for my situation.
Farflung replied to mowin's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
just a thought. We have a lot of old hay meadows that get cut twice a year in our vicinity. They always attract deer. New seedings of hay really bring them in especially if they are limed and fertilized. I have had good luck checking the pH, liming if necessary and then fertilizing it. Use a regular Co-Op Extension or similar soil test and then fertilize to the upper range of the reccomended fertilzer levels. I've done it and it works pretty well.
