  4. Totally safe if you are bullet proof! Famous last words "I thought I was the only hunter on this land!" About as safe as wearing a deer outfit during rifle season!
  5. This is about as smart as wearing a deer outfit during hunting season.

  9. This is one I have been watching recently, lol. Some might say it's wrong but I can't stop laughing. I cant find the original but this is the link that has it, starts at 45 sec mark.
  10. Good luck Zem18 hope she recovers well! I watched this a long time ago, one of my favorites.
  11. I waited for one brute to go past a small bush with tiny branches and a few leaves even though he was only a foot max past it. Even with the 44 I waited for a clear shot. If you are shooting through brush it should be a clear opening you can thread! Kind of goes back to knowing your weapon and being proficient with it! I think when the term was spoken years back it was more about having a gun with little recoil for follow up shots and easy of use in heavy cover. The heaver rounds tend to have better forward velocity that will deflect less (Perception) this is why the 30-30 was so popular. Easy gun to shoot and handle for many, with low recoil a follow up shot was not very hard. It was also though to be a good brush gun. I have to agree with the fact that no gun is a good brush gun to shoot through. I also saw the video with all the different calibers and they pretty much proved than even a slight deflection at those speeds basically will cause havoc on the bullets trajectory, velocity, stability and integrity.
  12. Happy B-Day, hope you where out as it was a beautiful day!
  13. Yes if you do try this be careful and do not let go of the bow. Only do it one time and do not start showing everyone how it works, do that with your shooting accuracy. That will prove how well the let-off and easy of shooting is with this bow.
  14. Simply put it is worth the extra small effort to protect yourself if you are in an area like this. In Hamilton county where I like to hunt they are not an issue but Suffolk county is infested with ticks so all those clothes get doused. It is worth every penny!
  15. Hope to tighten it up if I can! Big IF!!!
  16. I did the 80 yard challenge first shot was low (Was not sure where my pins was set.) and the 4th shot I pulled up on a bit those are the high and low shots rest are not bad for me. (Real yardage was actually 78 yards.) Pic 01 Second round was a bit better but my left and right was a bit off, think I have adjust my sight slightly to the left as I am hitting left mostly. Pic 02 Last shots where at 30 yards using my first pin that is now set to about 39 yards. First shot was low but I was real happy with the second two! Form still needs some work along with my neck and back! Arg
  17. Love this bow! Was actually thinking about getting one just for target as the let off is pathetically awesome! This is a shooting machine! With all the accessories on it you can literally draw the bow down on a hook and it will stay at full draw if you let it go very slowly. Let me know what you think of it Jeremy K. This video shows I think the highest let off with a bare bow holding at full draw with only the weight of the bow holding it! Told my buddy about this bow and he went and purchased it that week, still has it and loves it!
  18. Looks like a great bow let us know how you like it after a few weeks! How is the Valley, back wall, does it pull forward at full draw or is it easy to hold, what arrows are you using, GPI or total weight of arrows and FPS if you have a chronograph. Best of luck with it, looks like an awesome bow!
  19. Really depends on the area, simply put not all spots in NY have lyme yet all it takes is someone to go in an infested area and bring some back to your location. You can have 30 a day on you, if none have lyme you will not get it. Simply put Biz this is a horrible disease that can have an adverse affect on your health! I did not hunt LI for many years due to lyme then I found that Pemethrin stuff and how well it works. Believe me I have been in areas infested with them and so far not one tick in literally hundreds of hours per season, granted most of this time was between October to Feb but it has been a life saver that allows me to hunt LI without fear. Both my brother who is a butcher and my Father who lives out east came down with Lyme, it is a serious disease do not take it lightly! One symptom is having no energy to do anything, so that alone keeps my trying to stay protected! For me I would much rather be pro-active. That 30-60$ for 2 full sprays covers me for the season of 4 months. I do my boots, socks, and basically every piece of clothing I wear on LI including my back pack and bow release, hats, underwear. I also try to layer so my socks go over my under garments and if it"s really bad I will duck tape the boot area and wrists, some spots are much worse than others. Climbing to a tree stand a few hundred yards in does not require tape but if I hunt in the thick stuff stalking all day it is an extra layer of protection. Be safe and take this serious as it can mess you up pretty bad! It spreads further every year!
  20. Truly one of a kind! "In the end they all respected and loved each other." So true Philoshop!
