    Opening day of southern zone gun season is the biggest kill day of the year in New York State .... kinda tells you what days are when to be " out there" !

    I'd love to upgrade my old 30-30 Iron sights but not sure how to go about it , my eyes are not the best anymore .... its an old Winchester 94 30-30 top eject ! Any suggestions ?

    I put up a Trail Cam last summer and it lasted through hunting season , winter and spring ... I went to my property today to change battery's and chip and lo and behold some lowlife decided to steal it ! I hung another one with a cable and lock just too see if the lowlife is still on "the hunt" for trail cam's ... we shall see ! I did put some brush around it and now I just hope !

    I'm the same , until I started bow hunting ! I went out with the compound 2 years ago (first time) and scored a nice Doe , 2 weeks later I used my crossbow (first time) and scored a 6 pointer . The activity during both trips convinced me that bow season is the time to be out there ! I never considered myself a bow hunter even though I had my compound for several years but those 2 experiences taught me !

    I recently found out that two neighbor's kids 14 and 18 want to hunt this coming season and their Dads don't hunt so their looking for someone to hunt with and show them the ropes . Well I have to tell ya the first thought that came to mind was " no need to drag Deer this season " ! The 14 year old I will take during Bow/Crossbow and allow him to drag his or my Deer (I have no shame) and the 18 year old during gun season and do the same . I'm just trying to be a Team Player .... LOL !
