Personal life has reeked havoc on my deer season this year, but my kids come first. You have 4 more sits then me...lol...but in the sake of filling the freezer in those sits i went 3 for 3, so no complaints from me. Just hoping to finish off with one more at the tail end of ML.

I agree, if baby was even strapped to his back and even with earmuffs thats not good. No deer of anysize would be worth a shot with any child so close to the muzzle blast. I really do hope he had some ear protection for that infant.

My young rat terrier loves venison, i always give it to him cooked. Why even take the chance with raw meat when you can just cook it.

For me i dont need to hunt for food but i enjoy venison so much that its would be extremely hard to live without it. For me its just a matter of trying new things, if i dont like it thats fine but i will still try it. Guess its just how some are raised up.

My parents and family are from Sicily and my grandparents were sheep farmers on both sides, Lets just say back then nothing went to waste. My dad and mom have taught me to eat and try everything, till this day there are very few things i haven't eaten or have tried. My last deer we ate the tongue, brain, nuts ,liver and heart. Dont knock something until you have tried it. Wont know until you try it. I have learned to look past things like texture, the looks of it etc..and just chow down. Theres not much i haven't eaten on a deer, we let nothing go to waste...lol..jeez my post just made me hungry.

Rub straps with olive oil, fresh garlic, salt and pepper, throw on a hot grill with some type of wood (qpple, mesquite etc..) to add smoke.. few minutes on each side. Done. Simple but yummy.

I have way too much family here to leave. Yes taxes suck but to be quite honest NY has for the most part been great to me. Love all the change in seasons, love to hunt in snow. I love where i hunt, love the mountains and fields of CNY. Did i say love too many times...lol..I took this pic. last week from the top side of my property, not many places where you can get views like that and at the same time can hear a pin drop. My wife is actually the one encouraging me to buy it for myself for xmas, this way its one less gift she needs to worry about buying...lol...but im the type of guy that hates having things around that are not being used. Id just rather sell a couple before i bring another one home.
