  1. Remind me why I live in NY again?!?!??!
  2. Yea this months credit card bill is pretty rough
  3. Doc when did you buy your lifetime?
  4. Yes. I just ordered mine this year. Called the DEC to ask them this specific question. Only if you bought a lifetime before a certain date do you not have to pay for a dmp. Just forgot what the date was since it did not apply to me.
  5. Hey Bill, Looks like they are doing a small game trial run this year allowing firearms in Oct 1. Just and FYI.
  6. BJ's or Costco carries them sometime. That's where I've been getting them.
  7. If you can find these they are amazing.... http://www.famousbbqstore.com/78780.html
  8. Just curious what everyone's strategy is when it comes to all day sits? - Do you stay in the same stand all day or move between a selection of stands. - Any tips to make them a little easier on the body.
  9. Pulled the trigger on a lifetime license today and also applied for my DMP. No issues with the online system.
  10. Been shooting the bow regularly and doing some google earth scouting. Heading up this weekend to move some stands and clear some lanes and check the cameras.
  11. Does anyone know when the Bass Pro shop that is planned for Long Island supposed to be open?
  12. It would also be nice to get out small gaming. Squirrels, rabbits and anything else you can go after.
  13. If you feel like traveling a little bit there is a Cabela's in PA which is only about an hour and a half from NYC. I think that is the best one. There are a few Gander Mountains within an hour or so from the city, but I think Cabela's is worth the extra time in the car.
  14. Yea plan was to bow hunt early season.
  15. I follow some back country bow hunters on social media as well as listen to some of their podcasts. I heard one of them speaking about Grave Digger broad heads which I decided to give them a go this year. Anyone ever try these out? Looking forward to seeing what they can do this year as I always shot Grim Reapers.
  16. Thanks Bill. Will be calling today to inquire. Much appreciated!
  17. Thanks Moog.....Think I just solidified my decission
  18. Moog......That's what I like about it....I can have my binos and range finder all in one. Is it to bulky or does it seem to get in the way when you draw back on your bow?
  19. Joined a hunting league so I've been practicing with the bow for a few months now to get ready. I need to get up and move some stands and tinker with the rifles. Seems like I will never have enough time to ever be ready for a season with work and other life commitments that take up most of my time.
  20. Any good public land in the Southern Zone to recommend? Most likely will be walking the woods spot and stalk.

Speaking of smooth license sales, anyone know what date licenses go on sale this year?
  22. Anyone here getting out for the early bear season? Just curious if anyone ever went in Steward State Forest and what your thoughts are? Also looking for tips and tactics for the early season.
  23. I've been shooting Grim Reapers since I started bow hunting a little over a decade ago and have never had a problem with them and actually like them quite a lot. This year I am actually testing out a new brand called grave diggers. I follow a western bow hunter who used these on a bear hunt and he said he never saw devastation and blood from another head. I also found a guy in my archery hunting league that uses them and he swears by them as well. Bought a pack and will be giving them a whirl this season.
  24. Been itching to add a marlin 45-70 to the safe
