  1. I was looking at the video frame by frame it looks like the deer was hit in the spine area. Now I have heard that an impact in that area can put a deer out but after a while they come to and will run off. This is not breaking the spine, of course.
  2. Just and FYI-I got this from another site. I would of had a finishing round in it. One thing I aways do is stay out of the deers sight when its down and still alive. Approach from behind and shoot it in the neck.
  3. Get out and hunt. Use bleats and buck growls it will bring them in. Scrapes are still being used in 8P.
  4. Give me a break, they are two guys who stand by their convictions.
  5. Nobody got owned here. Those animals are all trophies in Hunter's eyes. Hunter you shouldn't have posted that PM in my opinion. It's available for a reason.
  6. Honestly I come from Long Island and had a cabin on roscoe. It got too crowded For me. Stuff like this happened so I sold the place and bought In the finger lakes. Way too far for weekend warriors I just have To put up with the jerks from Rochester! Lol
  7. Real nice buck, congratulations to the hunters! You also should be congratulated on keeping tabs on this giant and sharing it with us!
  8. 8P all the deer were using the scrapes over the weekend. I read an article about a trickle rut in place this year. I think the scrapes stay active for a couple more weeks.
  9. IJust trying to get some facts straight here Bubba, I'msmart enough to figure out the rest.
  10. Grow is this the big 9 that was shot??
  11. Was this guy wearing just camo? I haven't read an article that states this but some of you guys are saying he didn't have BO on.
  12. I agree Doc. I have used my guy for 7 years now. Tag stays on the deer the whole way. I dropped off my 4 Sunday at 10:00 my numbers were 74-77 and while there about 10 more came in. My neighbor picked the meat up yesterday. BTW he charges 50 bucks for a regular cut no bone. If I lived up there I would do the deer myself, for 50 bucks it's not worth my time.
  13. We'll make more............better luck next year or maybe this year, still have a lot of time left.
  14. Totally agree, second report said it was around 4:30. You need to be seen especially if your on the move at the first and last hunting hours of the day.
  15. 4/5 hunters took deer. 1 buck 2 doe and a button. I shot a nice 8pt that I couldn't track and my neighbor got it. We had a good day......
  16. Gun hunting in full camo. Hope he had a orange vest.......nice deer for sure!
  17. New update: I've seen deer there before so I shot......... http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/11/19/malverne-firefighter-killed-in-upstate-hunting-accident/
  18. When I'm looking for deer it is slight movement or the color white I pick up first. Flick of a tail or white on neck and legs. Then identify it is a deer. I was field dressing my deer in 50 degree weather Saturday. I stripped off layers and got down to my long johns which are white. I took off that shirt quickly but that may have been enough for someone to shoot. Just a thought and I will do things differently in the future.
  19. Had 7 does under my stand at 7:15. Two other were button bucks sparring with each other, that was really cool.
  20. I don't think it's about shots. It's all about smell and a visual sighting of a human by the deer. I was on stand Friday afternoon and had a big buck and doe 30 yards from me. My neighbor was sighting in his gun very close to us. The deer didn't flinch one bit at the sound.
  21. I hunt private and all the land around me is private. Still you have to watch where everyone is and what they are doing. You also can have lowlife trespassers that can give a rats ass about your life.
