  1. In the past the majority of crop were corn and beans. Few years we had oats. There is a great big bean field about a half mile from me. I counter over ten deer in one area around 11 am. For me corn is king. Even the bears feel at home in it during the daylight hours.
  2. But I don't think the corn will "ear out" because it was planted so late. He will just chop for silage. Am I off here?
  3. Just got back from the cabin. All the fields that were leased are planted in corn. Swore he said hay, maybe corn just this year then to hay.
  4. Happy Birthday America! Be safe everyone!
  5. I agree. This motor was the better motors that they put into the vehicles. It was 00 compared to the 01. Motor but failed at 197,000. Valve, crank shaft issues. I think there is litigation going on about it.
  6. This was three years ago so probably more expensive now. Long Island prices, I paid $8,200. It was perfect timing my mechanic was a bit slow at the time so he put a few guys on it and they had it done in a couple of days.
  7. My 2007 Tahoe motor went at 197,000. I replaced it with a Jasper crate motor. Currently have an additional 70k on it. Running great knock wood! When I get my new truck my 17 year old daughter will drive the Tahoe. I told her I want it back in decent shape!Other than damage on the bumpers the truck looks great!
  8. I went on the chevy website and built my truck again. Unless I did something wrong the price was about 2k higher, no kidding.
  9. Update on my truck. Being built July 26th. I should have it mid to late August. 3 1/2 months from order. It's ok no rush. They couldn't put in the safety package for lack of parts and can't spray the bed with the protection coat. I also added side steps and a tri-fold hard cover bed top. They are going to send out the truck to have the bed sprayed. Anyone know the cost of this? If done at factory they charge $600. Thanks, FL
  10. I used a bee trap this year and it worked great. Spayed the eves with a citrus solution and hung fake wasps nests. Had two new holes last week compared to over 20 last year.
  11. Eastern Regional finals in NJ for soccer. Just felt like cheese and crackers! lol
  12. I think Smith Farms told us they were finished grain fed. Not 100% positive but I kind of remembering Lowell saying that.
  13. I will find out. As soon as I try it I'll let you know!!!
  14. A couple of good picts from a food plot on my property. That was a big Sow with 3 cubs close to 2 yrs old. They needed to leave Momma!
  15. In 8P we get a lot of pictures on camera. Healthy Sows with triplets at times. I've shot at a few at bow season, never connected, but come gun they seem to disappear. I think in the last 14 years only 1 small bear was taken adjacent to my property at bow season. Then again bear season hasn't been open all those 14 years. Now I remember like in 2010 we had standing corn opening day. A sow and two cubs were feeding in it. They came out to my brothers stand to check out a doe he had shot. They wouldn't leave. I actually walked over to him right before dark and the three bears were on the edge of the corn just looking at me. Finally they went off into the corn. Like they knew I couldn't shoot them! lol
  16. We also were planted last week. I'm not a Farmer but I thought he said they could get 1 cutting in before winter. Does trhat sound right? Also mostly beans planted in the other fields around me.
  17. In my sisters backyard. Still a lot of growing to do looks like an 8 pt. Will keep an eye on t5his guy. Enjoy!
