I'm no expert but that price seems high, shop around especially the manufactureres in Pa.. I was looking into a 3BR ranch with two baths and place it on a full base with garage underneath. If the property can accomodate it you can get a den with walkout sliders under it also put your mechanicals in there. To me that should be around sixty plus well, septic and electric. Good luck.

I have only stayed at KOAs in NY but they are usually the standard other campgrounds strive for. First get a KOA card from a local one so you can get a 10% discount on your first stay but get it the year you are travelling. They are kind of pricey because they are geared more for RVs with hookups at most sites and not much of a discount if you are tenting it. You might want to look into their Kamping Kabins basicaly a small cabin with beds. You bring sheets or sleeping bag. A little more money but more security than a tent. I don't think it's a problem to bring along a rifle or shotgun for saftey. Be careful at rest areas too.

Well, we all heard Obama tell the Russian Pres that he could be more flexible in his second term. Russia is helping Iran get the nukes they want and Russia wants us to remove missle defenses from eastern Europe. I like the Marlin bolt action but all of the above are great. You should find out how much she spends on shoes, nails and hair before you lowball yourself on something that lasts for generations and still retains much value.

I started using a sled last year for hunting. Pop up blind, heater and bucket to sit on. Hopefully a deer to take out. Not as easy as it looks. Fine on flat ground. A little harder uphill. Worse down. Found a longer rope to let the sled go down first was the best way. PM sent.

Elmo, there are quite a few trails with lean-tos you can hunt from in NY. If you bow hunt I would go then as it will be less crowded and you can test yourself out before it gets cold enough to kill. If all goes well you can return in winter. There are also outfitters who provide the tent experience with a stove if that interests you. I know Land and Camps ( Christmas ) used to offer an established ADK tent site with private land to hunt. It wasn't cheap but if shared by three other people it would be reasonable. When I started hunting I would always camp but found I had to spend too much time and energy camping and less hunting. Now, I prefer the comforts of a cabin or lodge but by all means go make those memories.

Kgun, I don't think borrowing from your 401 is a bad idea if you can afford that payment plus the rest of the payments on the mortgage for the property. Plus the taxes. Without electric you can't plan on moving there when you retire. BTW I think you could establish a great hunting spot with a lot less land. Many on here have 20-40 acre lots with food plots and do quite well. Even a small piece of land with electric available could be you retirement home and the food plots and blinds will already be there. Good luck.

I have to say I have had more than one salesman in a store tell me the bait, rocks or Cmere Deer is just to pattern deer to a certain area but not for shooting over. When I tell them that is BS and it's illegal to bait anytime and they are giving their customers bad advice, they reply but it's not illegal to sell it. I wish it was and more of these a**holes got the tickets as well.

Don't forget if a legal armed citizen does win the fight then they charge him with murder like George Zimmerman in Fla, and that's a stand your ground state.

I am gonna look into it, for two bills I can get into crossbow. I think they are legal for bow season in Pa and NJ. Not sure.
