  1. Tikka T3 Lite with 22" inch barrel is extremely accurate. synthetic stock and stainless barrel . very impressive crisp trigger for $650 then add nice scope with good base. is the $1k budget for gun only or gun/scope?
  2. yah there are a bunch of threads that come up every year for Sterling. If you do a search in top right of the main page you should come up with some info

    stolen guns

maybe they sensed someone was coming in driveway or something and had to take off faster than expected. For those that do not have full security cams and alarms, you can always put a trail cam or 2 around house facing doors, access areas. secure them hidden in shrubs, tree limbs

    stolen guns

I hope they surface and the price is paid. Awful you have to go through that. on a side note, it may be tough to refrain from using facebook while away but news travels and unfortunate things happen. A friends motorcycle was stolen out of garage and they found out facebook relations played a huge role
  5. Just thought I'd see if anyone starting buying licenses online or in person yet. Any issues like year? hopefully the systems are ready to roll
  6. whats the estimate for the 840sq ft of ceiling ? in a newer build like yours you it is the way to go plus you are following code so see what other prices you come with and make sure you are there when they are doing it
  7. so as a very general statement , the antler growth period lasts about 3+ months in total ? i usually see velvet until end of Aug and they show up on the camera after labor day all cleaned up
  8. I've got the 1911 covered. So yah I may be just looking to scratch the itch for a new .45 range gun. A good gun will never go to waste. I would like a good stock trigger and have reading a lot about the long mushy S&W MP trigger having that issue. Some others appear to be more snappy in the up/down recoil direction vs straight back . its a .45 so its going bounce your hand in some direction. Does the Sig justify paying a premium? not sure-ideally we can all shoot before buying.
  9. starting to kick some tires on my options and am looking for your .45 opinion . what do you own/owned and what do you like and dislike about it. Exclude 1911's, any Kahr, Springfield .. looking for something to shoot at the range few times a year for now, not necessarily for carry anytime soon. Glock 30, S&W MP, even Sigs (220, 227) etc, are considered . .
  10. are there any plots of land for sale nearby or on your road? maybe they were getting a feel for the area- thats best case scenario.. keep your eyes peeled think we all know when we are getting a creepy feeling
  11. anyone else use Ameriglo, Meprolight, or Trijicon's ? they are have decent reviews with some people saying each brand isnt bright enough. I know they arent going to light up the room but it would be nice to buy 1 set and not be disappointed
  12. they will get the other soon. I somehow feel way more connected to this ordeal probably because it is NY. thats what you get for stealing someones cabin gun
  13. check out the Chamberlain CWA2000 wireless motion alert. Lowes, HD, (Amazon -usually best price) carry it and you can add up to 4 sensors for every base unit. One of the sensors was beat after 2 years, called chamberlain and they sent me new one and a new base -no charge.
  14. pretty cool picture. cameras are great for time lapseing the growth over the summer. thanks for posting
  15. if so, what region are you in and post some pics. Usually in may i start seeing them sprout and can tell them apart from the the does that may have a fawn(s) brewing inside.
  16. Mayweather will play the usual "avoid the punch" dance around the ring. Would love to see manny win by KO or decision. cant stand mayweather. So much loot being generated by this fight, cant wait for the sequel in 2016 though both are not young fighters at this point
  17. i use them for shotgun and i have one for the rifle. I spray bore cleaner in first and let it sit for few minutes and run the snake through a few times. Finish with a little Rem oil with or without 1 last snake run through
  18. i would start with the easier, cheaper look of using paint first. you can always go to the pine later if you are thinking you want a change and its a long term house for you guys. if it is a 4-7 yr house stick with the paint idea for lower out of pocket cost and easier potential resale .
  19. anyone else seeing lots of buck groups recently? seeing a bunch together last week or 2 and I dont remember that in the past few januarys.
  20. should be fine. once thawed, the smell will let you know if it is OK to eat

    MeatEater

last nights Alaska moose part 1 started a new season. great show. if you havent already, check out a few episodes from last season where he brings Joe Rogan out with him and teaches him the ropes on whitetail hunting. After a couple of episodes Joe is convinced he wants to live the rest of his life purely on free range hunted animal protein and never buy meat in a store again. I think a lot of us can relate to that.
  22. go to the channel's website and look at the programs they list. you may recognize it there
  23. of course, then do it again Sunday
