Ive been hunting deer for 20 years and up until last year gun season meant shotguns, Now it means rifle I have a model 94 winchester 30-30 and im using a 170 gr. Winchester soft nose, I shot a doe last week and she didnt act like she was hit just kind of looked up at me, So i shot her again, again no real response so i shot her a 3rd time and this time she took off and ran about 45 yds before piling up,When i got down and walked over to her she had all 3 shots right behind her shoulder and when i field dressed her back at the house all 3 shots were within inches of each other and the rounds broke 4 ribs, So my question is there a better 30-30 round to use, Something with a little more knock down power, maybe the bullet mushrooms more, Honestly i know nothing about rifle rounds other than you shouldnt use a FMJ, Any help would be great thanks,

Hunters are hunters worst enemies, It goes both ways, Compromise is something some "Hunters" will not consider,

mossberg 500 in my case it would dent the primers just wouldnt set them off, If you waited 10 minutes or so and put it back in it would fire, Only realized that after 2 boxes failed to fire so i said screw it and tried one again, Every one fired the second time,

I have a shot gun that wont shoot remington slugs too, Every other kind of slug no problem, But remingtons all i ever got was a click, It sucks i missed out on a couple deer one day like that,

yes sir so far it has been pretty accurate better than the news that is, just make sure you shut off the internet connection when your not using it,

Every deer ive ever shot has had ticks, I just use my hoist and throw a tarp under the deer and spray it with permethrin, So if any ticks do fall that stuff should kill them before they infest the gsarage,

After watching 3 fights yesterday morning and seeing the busted up racks of those bucks, id say probably a fight,

Always could google it, Type in: Sunset (the name of your town) and N.Y and it will give you the correct sunset,sunrise everyday. Besides it gives you something to do while your sitting there waiting for a deer,

Honestly id probably just prune the tree properly and fertilize it and maybe next year do the top but some times to much at once isnt good and can shock the tree, Or weaken it and have disease set in,

8J the smaller bucks are beating each other up real bad, I watched 3 good fights this am and had 3 bucks running a doe around at 100mph came by my stand in blur of grunting, out of breath and heavy panting That was at 8 am this morning, I dont think you could have stopped them with a semi truck

Get a good fertilizer feed outside the canopy and trim all the suckers off the tree, in a couple years it should be producing good, just make sure you prune at the right time of the year, google and you tube will help,

Went to walmart last night no lines and got 2 for 8J, Looked on Craigslist Fingerlakes today and people are trying to trade tags all over, Instead of waiting for the glitch people just got tags for anywhere they could and kicked themselves in the ass, Honestly i hope that if they use them in the wrong area they get busted, JMHO

DEC's site is having problems issuing some WMU's this am. Iknow 8J is one of those areas and there are several others too, Call your issuing agent before you go down to get them,

So this year im lucky to be hunting deer to begin with, I blew out my knee earlier this year and am happy i got in the woods at all, After 4 months of nothing bigger than this guy on cam, He came by on wed. night so when he offered a quartering away shot i decided too take him, The arrow entered between the second to last rib and last rib on his left side and exited behind the shoulder on his right side, he took off on a death run and 35 yds later piled up, Im happy with him and extremely glad i own a deer cart,

My lab got a tick when using the seresto, the only tick ive ever found on her and she contracted lyme disease from it, ill be using Advantix 2 from now, My buddy jason had the same collar and his dog got lyme disease as well from a tick.

Most people that have been buying them have been buying them because they are tired of the same old drab colors, neon green,orange,school colors seem to be really popular pretty much if you can think of the colors i can make them.
