Sure no problem. All I was using was a foam fly that I tied. Same foam you would use for a hopper or ant fly with the only difference in it being white. I tied it on a 2x size 14 wet fly hook from orvis. 4x tippet was all I needed to bring them in with zero worry of the line breaking. Only thing that caused me to loose a couple was if they wrapped around a branch underwater. I never had to set the hook because they always took the fly and turned so the pressure of the drag was enough to hook it for me. These guys fight like bull dogs so its pretty fun. One other guy was fly fishing and he used the same fly as me but had a 4wt instead of a 5. Have at it and tell me how you do. I should say that i took a few old bagel pieces and threw them around to some what chum the area before throwing a fly in. -

No canoe, but I'm sure the fishing is good from the bank while wading. Thanks for the suggestions -

Still not too big on pond fishing or even freshwater fishing, but the fluke fishing has been pretty slow so I'm just targeting them while waiting for that to eventually heat up. Probably won't get out there again for a while since my summer class starts soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Got out today at the same pond as yesterday and caught 3 more carp and hooked 2 more. I even got a quick video of my fighting it with my 5wt. I only got pics of the first and third fish but the third was the biggest. It's a small pond so I've only seen one or two that a bigger than the third one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Got out today to a pond right across the street from the bay i usually fish. Took my 5wt out and caught a couple carp on a size 14 fly which was pretty fun. Didnt get a pic since I left my phone in the car. Ill probably get out tomorrow and try again. -
The Psychology Behind the Quest For Trophy Racks
ATbuckhunter replied to Doc's topic in Deer Hunting
I never really thought about the psychology other then the fact that I want it. Its a challenge and I enjoy challenging my self at this point. Its the same as wanting to catch a big fish in my eyes -
I don't believe you can compare the fracking with cars or power lines due to the long term effects and the amount of unknown involved in fracking. It has contaminated drinking water in multiple parts of the country. In my opinion the unknown of what's can happen out weighs the short term monetary benefits. If something goes wrong you can kiss the land value and drinking water good bye. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any one who considers themselves an expert on fracking is an idiot in my opinion. No one really knows whats going to happen when you shoot high pressure water down a hole. They can theorize and say this is what should happen based on their knowledge, but many times there are variables not seen by the frackers that causes oil to go places where it shouldn't. Ill take the word of the people who have had their drinking water contaminated.

Mine is doing great. Grapes look like they did well over the winter (not as many grapes as much as last year though), my figs did amazing over the winter with almost no death in my trees which means ill get two batches of figs this year. My raspberry's are spitting out a ton of raspberry's, strawberry's are doing well and my tomatoes are growing pretty well. I believe this will be a great season for vegetables. Unfortunately my peaches got hit with a disease that I can't remember the name of. 3 of my trees have a bunch of peaches, but 1 has 0 now because of it.

I didnt take a picture like I usually do, but I got a nice fat 28" striper a couple weeks ago and last Wednesday I caught a short Fluke from a local jetty near my house. Planning to go out on Monday for more fluke...maybe Ill go for bass one more time this year. -
Im going to get my father new boots for this coming season as his old boots arent in the best shape for hunting anymore. I'm looking for something that's leather and with high insulation (800 grams preferably). The reason I want leather is because we usually have to cross one or two very small creeks and id like a boot that's water resistant. I've heard some bad things about the rubber boot styles durability. Any one have any good suggestions? One last thing is id like to keep it with in $150 since my recent payment of my semester tuition hasn't left me with much money to play with.

Haha ya I figured that one. Still tons of fun to catch...especially with lures.
-
Nice fish! A lot of the times those smaller guys fight harder than some of the 40" fish that ive caught. Id rather get a 28" fish over a 40 any day of the week. Either way looks like you had a fun time.

For me the bass opener was on the 15th of April. Got a nice 28" striper last Friday so im pretty much all catch and release now for striped bass (might keep one or two more). Good luck though!

I dont have any games, but like doc said I like to guess ranges in the woods and check them with my range finder. I can be spot on many times and way off sometimes. Thankfully most of the time I'm with in 5 yards of the actual range.

Nice bass. I'm planing on going out for them for the first time Thursday. I just need to get my 1 bass for the year and then its catch and release after that.
