Yes I did enjoy Greater Good ! tonights choices ...

And that is what I struggle with. Plant apple trees to alter a deers route and concentrate them = good . Dump apples on the same spot to alter the deers route and concentrate them = bad .

Congrats ! The days go slow, and the years go fast !

Did I miss an announcement ? And where’s my cigar ?

Dry January is over, glad there’s only 21 days in January! TF, you go to The Other Half ?

That’s us , I’m 50% or so in fixed assets , my wife 60% stocks 40% bonds . As I moved towards retirement I shifted my deferred compensation towards the general fund, so,when I left 100% was in it, balanced by one fund and my individual stocks . The general paid 4% for years, now it’s a bit lower, when stocks are down I say “ well look how much I made in DC, “ but when they’re up I then look at the stock side lol . We’re past the age to, be all aggressive . Wifes 60/40 blend returned 19% this year , but that amount was double my pension , so I’m ok with “ lower returns .” Which brings us back to ,as was said by others Get in early and keep ,putting in what you can . First day a new kid walks in the firehouse ,we’d ask him if he signed up,for deferred comp ? Then explain why he should , and then consider putting half of each raise in , for as long as possible , some do , some buy new pick ups , jet skis and other rapidly depreciating assets instead . Well I gotta go return my empty cans .....

Couldn’t find the old stock market thread , so it was a vary good year, any outstanding moves or returns made this year ? Ourselves ,funds returned pretty much the index, of the 16 individual stocks I own a cumulative return of 28% with 13 winners and 3 losers , 2 of those I cut loose, kept T2 Biosystems as they have a promising sepsis treatment that I’m hoping gains traction . Biggest winner was also my largest holding, Booz Allen Hamilton with a TSR of 52% last year . About my best move involved the kids, like most just starting out in their careers, they only put enough in their 401’s to get the company match, so we gave each a check, with the stipulation that they increase their contribution by xxx per month, then dip into the “ check” if they end up short on living expenses in a given month . As I figured they never had to draw on the money, and they caught a nice almost 30% return over the year . May be why they gave us really nice presents last Christmas, we underwrote them..... Here’s to 2,020 !

Aw..... auto correct strikes again ! Only found one knife and that was returned to its owner later in the day .

And this is why I always check around gut piles for knives and watches .

Shot a buck that was just inside a thicket with my ML, leaned ML against tree and went after it with a handgun, due to how thick it was in there . By the time I found the deer it was pitch black , I then dragged it the wrong direction, by the time I figured out where the Hell I was , I had no idea where the gun was . Was planning on coming back the next day, but by chance I finally found it , once I got my bearings again .

Oldest daughter really into them, I’ve had some sips of hers while out to lunch / dinner and some I found quite good, don’t ask me to name them though .

Used to hunt a swamp across from my main spot, cattails , dead trees with high spots around them, water knee deep on dry years, wet years forget hunting in it . From the old stands and blinds guy seemed to hunt the edge, can’t cover the whole thing from inside it, so,they set up on trails into it . Dont care for bow hunting it as there’s not really a good blood trail on standing water . To much of a hassle for me, I’d rather set up in the woods a couple hundred yards from it, same deer . blue is swamp red X stands I’ve killed bucks back in the day .

Another hunting knife

Many do a para cord wrap, if it gets bloody, just strip it and rewarp with new cord . My Strider DB came with a para cord warp, it’s so tight the cord actually feels hard . -
American Tactical Omni Maxx Hybrid AR

Yes, registered ones are grandfathered in with all the evil, features and drop free mags of ten rounds . You could register it or modify and not register , the gun ends with you though can’t pass it on or sell it in NYS . My question is say on a routine traffic stop, they see it on say a guys back seat can they look up registered AR on the spot . I’ll have to ask the cops at the gym . -

Your friend has a lot of company , when the state finally released the numbers , iirc only about 4% of owners registered them . That data shows massive noncompliance with the assault weapon registration requirement. Based on an estimate from the National Shooting Sports Federation, about 1 million firearms in New York State meet the law’s assault-weapon criteria, but just 44,000 have been registered. That’s a compliance rate of about 4 percent. Capanna said that the high rate of noncompliance with the law could only be interpreted as a large-scale civil disobedience, given the high level of interest and concern about the law on the part of gun owners. “It’s not that they aren’t aware of the law,” said Capanna. “The lack of registration is a massive act of civil disobedience by gun owners statewide.” -
So just plant a food plot .....

I’ll give you $50 , if you’ll wear them but don’t wash . -
That’ll make a nice home for the area mice ! I think I killed 15-20 in my one last year , sealed it up with tin and wood filler and it’s been good since, my other one had one in it yesterday , who was faster then I so he lives to, fight again . I don’t hunt out of mine much, base camp and bad weather , so maybe two or three times over eight years .

You guys should consider Culver’s QDMA banquet, I’ve attended the last two, years , won a gun each time , Moog and I won back to back guns last year . pre sale raffle ticket package is the way to go .

And special soap to shower in, wash your clothes , sprays for your outer clothes and boots , oh special gum for your breath lol

Loaded with them, I was toting a 17 round semi auto .22 , every year just walking around I’ll see coyotes and or fox , so now I tote that gun . Last year three coyotes were walking the edge of a thicket , I was walking towards them on the other side of a hedgerow, I got to about 100 yards ,but no long gun .

Ya, not like normal, where I’m largely disappointed lol, left them in place, swapped cards , it’s times like this I’d like more cameras . The one with the lopsided rack, ( rt is side taller ) he’s on a lot of pics, but never saw him before ,live or on cams.
