    Somewhat right. I wasn’t watching her shoot off the rest, which was to low, she said she was holding it like a pool stick . I’m sure she’d do fine again off hand, but just won’t give it a shot at this point . So a smaller sight, more forward may make her more comfortable.

    Idk, right now she’s not a fan of scopes, so a small one like this mounted forward would be sweet .

    So last year my daughter got “ scoped “ when shooting off a rest and leaning way to far forward off a low rest . This was with her 7mm08. She has shot it after,last year, but the other day she couldn’t ,said she’d close her eyes and flinch . So she’ll use her 870 iron sights this year , kick doesn’t bother her at all she said . Im thinking of removing scope from rifle adding a rail and red dot. I know little about them , but no eye relief means I can mount it a bit more forward . Her shots will be 50 yards and under really with one or two spots she could go 75 . Won’t set it up till over the winter . thoughts ,comments ,suggestions , brands welcome . Larry

    Never had one but.... Years ago at friends place on Black Lake a bunch of us up for the week end in late March, used the wood stove all week end . Then a guy goes outside and sees smoke coming off the roof , they just ran the pipe up through the roof too, it caught the roof on fire . A bucket brigade from the lake and we got it knocked down, of course roof damage and water damage . Had this been at night I’m sure it would have burned the roof off. Not too many wood stoves in the city , yet I’ve been to a number of wall and roof fires from them ,if I had one I’d go,over and above code .

    ASAT is the only camo I own that I feel makes much of a difference , I wish it was easier to buy and came in better material. I’ll often pair it with this 30 year old fleece top, had an ASAT long sleeev T, that I wore over my top layer but it wore out . Now these aren’t good examples ( they lasted but are not pricey ) , but spending the money , for something that will last what 30 plus years ,seems an easy buy .

    Our river bottom you may see two,other hunters in 4 days . After I got home I went on a Montana hunting forum to,ask questions about the area , and how they hunt , I was asked why I would hunt such a high pressure spot ! Lol

    Agree . Due to my shoulder issue ,I’ve maybe 15 hours on stand ,maybe 4or 5 sits . Not going out again at all till Xbow , and I’m at complete peace with that . Those are THE best bow hunting days , two years ago during the rut the day I killed my buck, he was the 14th buck I saw that day , not all in range but you get the idea . IMHO if you pick the days early on that are really good, wind, temp , moon ,whatever , or just whack a doe and stay out till the rut , you won’t burn out yourself or your spot . Come back in the rut and behold ..... This week I’m going to paint the new deer blind, go shooting with the Mrs, see some movies, visit her brother ,the next two Hunt every chance I can . I’ve got seven stands up one used twice , a couple once and the rest not at all, till the rut .

    Here’s my recent spider story. I woke up one morning with a small bite mark on my arm , figured spider bite ,it itched for a week, then turned into a hard mass the size of a BB under my skin. It stayed white as it woundnt tan . Over the next two,months people said I should get that checked out . So off to the DR. Office, where the nurse practitioner, said, Basel cell carcinoma or some other type of cancer I forget. So off I go to the dermatologist, tell him the story and he says, scar tissue from the bite. I could remove it and send it out for tests, but we’d be making a big deal out of nothing . Anything else you want checked ? So if you see a NP with a broken nose anytime soon, now you’ll know why .

    Bingo ! This fall sucked weather wise . I love the fall, the leaves , sunny cool days , hunting , hiking , camp fires at home . this year just sucked so far . This weekend and most of next week rain .... Well I won’t be hunting , just shooting on the range with the Mrs and farting around . Crossbow season better be nice !!!

    New rub by my shooting range . Daughter and I shot, they were cutting the beans around us, an hour after we left a young buck came out from behind my back stop .lol Im done with bow, unless by some miracle I can draw bow again , no biggie I’ll be out everyday of crossgun .

    No time to comment , I’ve got to drop off five thousand dollars worth of items at the church ,so I can deduct it from my taxes . The same church I give several thousand a year to , and as my accountant says “ a little more at Christmas too ,don’t you ? “ As it stands now it’s self regulating, I’d say 1/3 of the gun take is outside NYS legal hours maybe more , that’s based upon shots I hear . The law is on the books , I’d say less the 25%, and I think that’s being generous follow it . It’s like the one guy going 65 on the thruway . Changing the law will ,not change things much at all as far as when guys shoot .

    Enjoy, and good luck ! I really liked going ,we’d have a dozen guys, some who have hunted there 30 years . I’ve never owned a cabin ,so,it was nice to experience “ deer camp .”

    ^ agree with upstate red neck Im pretty much done with bow ,since I can’t draw most days . Xbow I’ll hunt everyday if needed . Leaves will be off and rut on as well .

    Went to the park today with the wife and beagle . The C cabins had 5 hanging that I saw, small doe and one good sized buck, body wise , rack so so, from what I could see driving by . Trucks all over the side of the road, saw a buddies Pathfinder parked along the road .

    Its not a purse it’s a possibles bag .... The coin purse works very well, easy to find by feel,in pocket or pack . Im honored to have an official Moog one !
