Yesterday morning killed this doe. Pushed by a big buck into 12 yards.......he was probably bummed when I plugged his girl friend. She's a nice adult doe, dressed at 102lbs. It was another fast & furious morning!

I'm in Canadice.........had a good day yesterday (I'll explain in a bit in another thread) but today was the icing on the cake.

Congrats Grizz1219, nice doe. Guessing on weight is best for the hucksters at the County Fair though, grab a scale and get a weight on your deer in the future. It's humbling..........

I hate to bust your britches but it's raining in Canadice right now. I don't think it'll last long but it IS!!

My best stands are close to the roads. My theory on it is why get your stink all over the woods? The deer pay little to no attention to roads, vehicles or houses in my opinion. Why walk in and get scent all over the place when you can slip in and out of a spot without stinking the joint up too much?

I could smelll the fire and see smoke at home this morning and now, at work in Clarence I can smell it. Dang I'd have to be close to it.

Sounds like you guys aren't spending much on your blinds, what is a middle of the road priced blind going for $150? How about Double Bull and Rhino Blinds, any experience?

I use a Leica 800 CRF and have for 7-8 years now. It works great and has been very sturdy........... Sig Sauer makes a model called the Kilo now and from what I've read about it, it can't be beat for the money.

I'm considering buying a ground blind. A elderly friend (80's) asked if he could borrow an old mesh camo screen I have that I used to use for goose hunting. It is very simple and is just stuffed in some 6' rebar. no roof etc.........not much of a blind for deer hunting compared to what is out there today. I thought maybe I'd buy a good blind and set it up for him for the gun season. I don't really have any interest in using one but maybe I'll change my mind?? What kind of blind are you guys/gals using and how well do you like it? How does it handle the weather such as rain or snow? Noisy? Ease of set-up? Thanks....
