Ive mentioned this to some fellow hunters and seemed to like the idea so I thought id pass along. Basically after cutting up the steaks I lather them with extra virgin olive oil and then add montreal steak season. Then ill vacuum seal them and toss in the freezer. Once I pull them out they thaw and season at once, then I just cut the seal and toss them on the grill.

Why not just use a screw in step? Ive been using them for yrs.

Well I wasn't overly confident with the high winds this afternoon. I had only seen a small buck and was getting pretty bored. Then I hear noise behind me to the right. I quickly see he's a shooter, grab my bow and stand up. At this point he's maybe 12yrds from the stand. He hears the stand make alittle noise when I stand up, he looks around for a second and takes a couple steps and I grunt to stop him and get it fly. He went maybe 70yrds.

Ive been thinking after recent event maybe letting a trapper in after deer season could be a good thing. Our property is in lower Ontario Co. Anyone here possibly interested or know someone?

Ive always taken the first week in nov but this yr I took the 2nd week off. Past couple yrs it seems like it was getting good when my vacation was over. Hopefully my timings good.

I saw a doe and a spike. Decided to pack up. I grabbed by bow off the rope and took a few steps and stopped to put my glasses back on. I hear a huge snap just down the hill. I'm looking hard thru the brush and hear more ruckus. It a big body 8pt going to town on a tree. I get on my knees and he finally starts heading straight towards me. He stops at around 20-25yrs and looks at me for a minute then turns and starts walking to my right, get full draw and as he hits a opening I grunt and he stops giving me only a liver/gut shot. H continues to the next opening and this time when I grunt he takes two steps to many and I have no shot. By now my arms are getting tired and shaky and I had to let off and he saw me. All at like 15-20 yards. Damn!!

Now that there are no restrictions I finally went out yesterday afternoon. I love waking up before my alarm goes off this am. That never happens for work!!

Ha, my buddy was just telling me story about him using a climber on a shagbark. Half way up the bottom got caught and fell to the ground. It got a little tricky getting down.

Yeah would have been a great pic with Keuka in the bank drop. Seems like you sets might get lonely with no one hunting them, hint hint

By buddy texted me this am asking if I've been out looking for an early doe. I said I'm not burning up stands to just shoot a doe and I dont want to see a nice buck come cruising by be either, ill wait till the 16th. I asked if he has seen any bucks an he saw a nice 10pt this am in range. My point exactly!!

Want apples grow? I just picked about 4 bushels today in the yard. I can't imagine the amount of apples ill have once the ten trees I planted 4yrs ago plus the 3 mature ones I have now, ill be swimming in them.

I'm not gonna get in a pissing war here but I enjoy qmda. Guess what it not city folk either nor do I spend big bucks leasing lots of land. I think you need to differentiate qdm from horn hunters. To me qdm is about a healthy balance herd. I prefer filling my doe tags and passing up they typical smaller bucks in hopes for a larger one. JMO

Was gonna camp with son and move and hang stands and setup two new t cams. Instead we stayed home and are just hanging out watching TV and playing games. Maybe I can convince him to go look for hunting boots for him and check prices on new vans for the wife. Tomorrow its all about football!! Go Bill's and Giants

Yeah a bit confusing. It talks about the high density but in my opinion its only certain areas that are over population. Our land in 8n has significantly less deer than my two spots in 8h, not even close. I wish they could get smaller units and more specific but that wont happen.

Rob doing nothing will get you nothing. This I'm sure is their first of many future phases that will be implemented over time. Maybe we should just continue to sit back and see how bad they can screw up our hunting or take a stand and hit there revenue thru licenses. Wallet share makes more noise than going to a dec open forum meeting where they don't really take any suggestions offered anyways.
